Sigh. You guys only care about the price of pussy and not about the price it costs to get somewhere, the looks of the women, and lodging costs. Quite frankly, the looks of the cheap hookers in Colombia blew away the high end ones in Lima.

For me. Pretty much.

Lodging, I'd never look at something high end as Doubletree. When I started going to Lima, it was staying at 3 stars like Maria Luisa when it was S / 70 a night and always kept my accomodation costs under $40 a night.

Flights, it's all the same to me, I fly into Santiago/BA from Australia.

I also have asthma so I think I'll have issue at altitude, esp in Bogota.

The main thing that scares me about Colombia (and what I like about Peru. And Ecuador when I finally get there) is that there is a safe environment where you can have cheap sex. I am scared shitless about going to Santa Fe in Bogota or Centro in Medellin, having to negotiate with a woman on the street and follow her to a dodgy hotel. However I feel very safe going to 90% of chongos in Peru and having sex on the premises, something I've done hundreds of times.

If someone can suggest a safe way to do it in Medellin, I'm all ears, but I'm too weary reading stories of being drugged, boyfriends walking in and blackmailing/threatening violence, holes / doors in the wall where people can steal your items, etc. All this stuff does NOT happen in a chongo in Peru, but does happen when dealing with street girls anywhere in the world (same stories around SW in Tijuana etc).

In this Doubletree dump, you're not even allowed to open the entrance door to the hotel yourself. Peru had good and cheap mongering available when El Trocadero and Las Cucardas were open. Lima was in no way a poor mongering destination like Santiago.

Cost of a room at one of three Doubletree hotels in Bogota hotels in Bogota ranges from $52 to $55 a night on hotels.com. Cost of one night in Lima Doubletree is $108 on hotels.com. It is $109 a night in Santiago. In Mexico City $80 and in Sao Paulo it is $65. Everyone of those locations save for Santiago has better looking women.

I really do not even know why you guys are arguing this point. Maybe once Peru devalues its currency again, it will be a bargain, but it sure as hell is not now.

That is new, I stayed there in Feb pre covid and it was totally girl friendly.

I booked the next 2 weeks at J Pardo (former "Las Americas" then "Thunderbird") where they assured me visits were allowed. If I remember right the Thunderbird epoch was not girl-friendly. The Las Americas epoch (dating back to Fujimori) was girl-friendly though.

I've heard even private apartments posed problems for visits (neighbours complaining of visits on the basis of Covid guidelines). It's like a wave of bloody-mindedness had settled over the country. Stark contrast with the totally relaxed attitude of the Brazilians.

Peru had good and cheap mongering available when El Trocadero and Las Cucardas were open. Lima was in no way a poor mongering destination like Santiago. El Trome and El Comercio were full of "massage" classified adds. Now of course no papers get published ("Covid", of course).

In this Doubletree dump, you're not even allowed to open the entrance door to the hotel yourself. You must wait for the long-faced doorman to do it for you. Beforehand you are made to stand on a square matt for your temperature to be scanned. You must wipe your feet on a second special matt. "Covid", you see.

Doormen have been challenging me for my room number at every opportunity, although I'm sure I stand out like a sore thumb here and everybody knows I'm a guest.

Do not get me wrong. The women in Lima are sweet, but the price of housing / hotels is double that of Colombia. Food is 50% more and if you go to Santa Fe in Bogota or Centro in Medellin, pussy is like 75% cheaper.

I'm a tad confused about the stamping of passports; which is fine because I'm old and silly. So, who does this benefit? I was told that happen when going to Cuba, but after two visits, I have two pinche stamps.

Also, what did you expect in Lima? Even though they are open for some visitors, the country is taking an ass-kicking! So much so, they are willing to try the vaccine from China!

If I was religious, I would say god help them. But, I'm not. However, I have many contacts in Peru and I wish them only the best.

No visits allowed ("Covid", usual excuse). After I made somewhat of a fuss the receptionist agreed I could have a visitor for a 20 USD joiner fee. This was all theoretical since I hadn't been able to locate a girl worth a joiner fee yet. I'm not even sure girls, especially non Peruvian girls, would want to visit clients in hotels since a girl is required to leave her ID at reception and if her name is entered into the computer system she might get tracked down for violating social distancing rules. I've seen many online girls list the fews hotels to which they're prepared to go. This could suggest all other hotels are problematic.

I hope to have more to report in the days to come but don't count on it. There are girls online but they seldom reply to messages. Plus, they look average compared to the lookers in Brazil.

Lima is not Sao Paulo folks! Stay in Brazil if you can.

I was engaged to a Venezuelan and I helped move her to Lima. She was hot, her body was a 10 and I felt that she could be on the cover of a fitness magazine. I was worried that she would get prayed on there and she did. I was bummed I lost her but I thank God now that I did.

As I am in the initial planning process, does anyone have suggestions on renting an airbnb vs a chica friendly hotel? Any tips on finding chica friendly airbnb's?

Sure, but all hotels above a certain range have safes so they must be part of an overall safety strategy, even if you only leave some cash in them as a decoy and hide your really valuable things somewhere else in the room.

Why can't AirbnB get their act together on this?

I've rented 2 AirbnBs with a safe in Brazil but they were both within hotels, so not really typical for AirbnB.

Any tip about an an AirbnB with a safe in Lima? The girl-friendliness is easy enough to sort out but the in-room safe is trickier. Some hosts will have safes that are not even attached to the wall.

The AirbnB App provides filtering for equipments. There's all kinds of life-saving equipments like hair-dryer and piano you can filter for, but no one seems ever to have heard of an in-room safe. Carbon monoxide detector? No, I have no intention of running a combustion engine in the apartment thank you. Am I the only traveller desperate to hang on to his passport and credit cards?
