It's perfectly safe to visit alone, as long as you take some basic precautions. Watch out for the ping pong show scams (Google for more info). I visited last August and it turned out to be a great trip. Do your research because they have a hundred ways to rip off a foreigner. I would also suggest checking out the full moon parties, they are supposed to be off the hook.

Coming to your concern about Indians having a bad reputation, I did face that unfortunately. Most of the reputed go go bars keep their doors closed once they see an Indian approaching and say 'members only'. This is because they are under the perception that Indians only visit the bars just to watch the girls, and not order drinks. But the beauty of Thailand is that these are just a few bars among literally hundreds, and a majorly of them do allow Indians. Hope this helps. Feel free to drop a not if you need more info.

I think the person is extremely talented spy hired by LE. Who is trying to tease us all here by showing off his skills in decoding spa. We need to watch out for this storm of stupidity supported by few others because if these guys are genuine mongers then they would know why this hobby is done in dark and they would not share things so openly. I would not be surprised to see these geniuses caught if they use these places. I am only worried if new bees would fall prey to these guys trap if we don't control ourselves. If this guy is still able to monger safely then definitely a spy is there in this forum.

Kinda seen a lot of rate reductions owing to more supply and less demand. Last week, I had a 10 K inde negotiated down to 4 K (may be a one time luck. Not sure).
