This might be quite elaborate not practical but here is what I do. I got a JioFi device for work purposes (for which you need a Jio Sim card too). And once you get it, you can use MyJio app to link to the JioFi and make calls / sms from your iPhone using the Jio number which no one knows about.

If you want to go once step further and use whatsapp in secrecy, install Bluestacks (Android emulator) on your laptop and then you can use whatsapp on it using your new Jio number. Piece of cake isn't it.
