Get another Hotel. Novotel is a BIG NO NO. It used to be very guest friendly. However it was raided in September. Since then they have become very strict. At the moment, Novotel is not what you are looking for. Try Orchid or Ibis near Domestic Airport. I am personally not aware, but some of my friends use Ramee guest line.

Nothing ever happens to customers in a DB raid. I used to spend each of my evenings in DBs for a long time and witnessed several raids. If there isn't enough time for the girls to leave, they get lined up & put into a van, taken to the station and released on a fine of Rs. 2500 each. 90% of the time customers don't even have to leave the bar. You can finish your drink, tip the "DJ" for some more songs and watch the fun.

Seriously don't be worried at all. NOTHING happens to customers in a raid. Just act confident. Even if you are in a room with a girl, nothing will happen. You get dressed and come out, girl gets dressed and if the police are already in the bar she gets taken to the station. 90% of the time there is at least 30 minutes prior notice of a raid.

This is not my impression. Recently the papers were full of reports of bars being raided AND the customers were also taken to the Police Station with a lot of publicity.

I really hope and pray that what you say is correct, but recently things seem to have changed for the worst. Mumbai has really become like Saudi Arabia.

From the most liberal and vibrant city it has become most hypocritical and prudish city. We can only lament.
