Seeing lots of discussion about going with pimps or without pimps.

The moment you step your foot in a pimp will follow you all the way till the girls room (unless you already have a set pimp).

My advice is if you are new enter through the Masjid Bari entrance. There will be tons of pimps. Just pick one and start your tour. NL / PremBandhan /#12/ Kanchan Palace are all in that vicinity. I have found the masjid bari entrance the safest as there are no locals forcing you for donation's and the pimps are reliable.

Personally I prefer to enter from the Abinash Kabhiraj lane side but if you are new to the area the Masjid Bari Lane entrance is a safe bet.

As a new comer one must not take any chance until and unless you are completely familiar with the lay of the land.

What's the harm in taking a pimp?

Just in an attempt to save 1000-1200 bucks, you can lose a lot more if the local goons catch you.

They might rob you of your expensive cell phones, force you to take out money from your debit / credit cards etc.

Anything can happen, they might even hurt you.

So take a pimp in the initial days.

The pimps may be scoundrels and they put up a sham bargaining ruse in front the girls, all the while striving to get you settle for the highest price so that they get a good commission (30% or 25% . Whatever).

Having said that they also ensure that you are escorted safely out of Sonagachhi area, shield you from local goons and cops.

What do you have to lose if a pimp follows you?

Advice to new comers in SG. Stick to premium / sub. Premium buildings and take along a pimp.

Do this till you are thoroughly familiar with the lay of the land (lanes, exit points, trouble spots), law order issues, modus operandi of the brothels and so on.

Stay near MG road, chandni chowk metro. Many cheap hotels there. It is near sg. There are several mid baris having good girls but after great search. No need of any particular pimp in sg. But local monger may be of help, bangla speaking. Pm your dates and contact no.

Just was about to ask the same what Frank Johnny posted. I am in Kolkatta for the past 2 days, but not sure how to go about going to Sonagachi. Have heard mixed things about the place and only a day on hand before I return. Not an experienced monger, but have visited similar place in Mumbai when friends used to come asking to arrange something on a very short notice. This will be my first time to go alone.

Could you tell me which Bari to go to if I am looking in the range of 2 k for an hour? And if they are worth going to if I like a bit of talking and stuff before the act?

Now I am not active in mongering. Now I have an opportunity to re-start my hobby and would like to start it with Kolkata.

I have RTTF the reports from 2013 and a specific post from Pinga during 2008 detailing the Sonagachi and preparing well for the Kolkata visit. I have downloaded John's map and shortlisted some girls in SG based on the reviews. During my visit to Kolkata; I am planning to spend my time by visiting Tantra / Roxy's, Bangur / Disha SPA, One or two dance bars and definitely will be spending majority of time in SG. I have gathered information regarding rates, buildings and girls in SG and still some more information need to be gathered.

1. Place of Stay: Please advise whether Park Street or Salt lake is the proper place to stay during my time in Kolkata. My accommodation budget is around INR 2500-3500 per day and if possible please suggest some clean hotels. I prefer a place near to metro as I don't want to spend my time in Kolkata traffic.

2. Please provide me with Ajay Mukhia / Santhosh / Legan contact numbers.

3. I have had my share of experience in Dance Bar and request to inform me some good dance bars just for enjoying the dance bar atmosphere once again.

KD & JD are two most discussed and most tried places in SG by low budget customer. Definitely in their price range they actually offer good service. However one may not like the Girls there look wise.
