Well, best time to visit kolkata can be tricky. Depends what you are looking for.

1. If you arnt a person who can take heat and humidity, its better to avoid the summer / monsoon. Mongering in summer isn't the best of options though most of the buildings in SG has AC rooms.

2. If you like crowd, Durga Puja would the best of time. SG during those 5 days are active 24 hours. Though its difficult to get the best of meat as they are mostly booked.

3. The winter (well don't compare the temparature with the likes of North india) is a time when you would enjoy your rounds to check out the place. The place is less crowded and you are sure to hit a gem.

If you RTFF, seniors do suggest the time between 2PM to 6PM in SG when the girls are fresh and almost everyone is avialable. Thats the best time in SG, if you want a service thats not hurried.
