You can get hiv only from a hiv positive person. In cases like condom breakage first try to get your partner tested and see. If that is not an option go for PEP. The circle in which we monger risk of having a hiv positive person is very low. However there are other stds that can be easily transferred. Go for a full std panel test if possible including gonorrhoea, chlamydia, herpes, syphilis. If you get herpes you can't do much other than making life style changes to keep it in dormant state. Later I came to know that the PEP treatment is available in any govt. SD hospital where AIDS treatment is provided. So, whenever you face any such situation and want to start PEP, you may visit to your nearby NACO ART center for proper treatment. Most of the other doctors do not have any idea on PEP. Private Venereologist doctor may also be a choice.
