Once you get out of sovabazar metro, if you are walking towards girish park, on your left side (SG being on the opposite foot) , keep looking for a Attitude ladies Salon. It's not about drawing money from ATM in SGs, it's about atmosphere around you there.

The SBI ATM is on the CR Avenue Main road! Chance is less for you to be robbed. There is another on the opposite side (AXIS Bank) next to the famous Sada Bari. Pulling out money from these ATM's aren't risky. You can also walk down towards Grey Street metro and use the ICICI. Inside SG as far as I remember there is just one ATM of Corporation bank or some Indian bank which is opposite to PremBandhan. I am sure John heard some incident and send a note of caution. In all these years I have never seen anything unusual, but better be safe than sorry. The issue might be if you are in SG drunk and then try to pull money out of an ATM.

Take a metro till Shovabazar get down there then take an auto till BK paul more, tell that auto driver to stop the auto at BK paul more then take a left and just follow the tramline you will reach there within 5-6mins.
