1. There is no time limit, SG gets busy only after midnight. You will miss midnight gala if you leave early. We usually leave by 3 am or some times after sunlight.

Adding a few more comments:

1. plan you SG trip well and take all safety precautions. If you do so. You will be 100% safe. The LE and pimp are not a threat to you actually. They are there to keep things safe. If you know how to handle the whole scenario. There is no point in going for a sexpidition if you are so panicky, fearful and tensed. So plan well and thereafter relax and enjoy. Choose co-mongers carefully. An experienced and compatible co-monger can help you feel safe, add to the fun and excitement and also share costs. But, don't be overexcited or audacious and avoid the safety precautions!

2. it is not advisable to avoid pimps. It is also preferable to build a bond with the pimp by behaving well and tipping him so that he is eager to pick and drop you and serve you properly. Whether it is the girl or the pimp. Expect good service only if you behave well with the girl and pimp. Tips to the pimp makes them feel good for sure but, your behaviour and personal rapport plays a bigger role.

3. let the pimp arrange the taxis. He knows which cabbie is reliable. Yellow or white AC taxis both are fine. Usually the cabbie quotes a certain price. You may bargain a little but, don't expect the cabbie to go by meter charges! Avoid an argument please. 5. to each his own but, best to avoid girls standing on roadside and the below Rs 2000 category. There are hygiene as well as safety issues in lower range and good co-operative pimps may not be interested in the lower range girls. But, as I said. To each his own. But, IMHO. The premium and mid range is the safest (2700 to 5300 range). This applies to locals as well as outsiders.

6. the roadside girls and girl gangs in some particular areas of SG can be worse than goons and in nexus with goons. So avoid that very luring princess on the roadside who calls you inside for just a few hundred bucks! A reliable pimp with keep you safe from such traps.

7. let the pimp handle / negotiate the chanda or LE and what you need to pay or not to pay. Don't get involved with them. No fisticuffs or arguments please. A reliable pimp will ensure safety for you at minimal expenses. This applies to locals as well as outsiders.

8. it is not enough to be escorted up to the roadside by the pimp. Many times, the LE is there to catch you on the roadside footpath outside SG. Waiting / standing / walking on the footpath in the entire area outside SG for cigarette / taxi etc without a reliable and co-operative pimp is not recommended even if you are an Bengali speaking local and regular at SG.

9. avoid locanto ads that call you to girish park. It may be a trap by goons for a real horrifying experience.

10. The payment is direct to the girls. Except the tips. The pimp takes nothing. There are no SPs for SG. Don't trust locanto ads or anyone asking for advance.

11. Dress very simply. Carry no extra valuables. Talk simply in Bengali or Hindi. Avoid getting into unnecessary fights / argument with anyone or doing things that can attract unnecessary attention. Don't brag or showoff. This applies to locals as well as outsiders.

If the precautions are observed SG is safer and better than anywhere else. If you are not intimidated by the brothel atmosphere and actually like it. There is wider variety, options and price range and everything can be seen and discussed directly and live in SG. There is no fear of 'raids' in SG as in MP or spas offering FS. There is no need to book hotel or show IDs. No pic related cheating or bait-and-switch. So SG is safe, easier and better experience.

Whether you are a local or an outsider. Veteran or newbie. Alone or with co-mongers. You will be safe if you follow the basic precautions. There is no need to feel threatened if you are an outsider or a newbie.

Finally, mongering always needs to be done safely, securely and hygienically. Plan well and don't be tensed thereafter.

Inside SG if you are getting caught by LE then pay Rs 200. Outside SG if you are getting stopped by LE before 11 pm don't get scared. Tell them you are there to eat at Mitra cafe. It's one of the most famous and oldest restaurants. Lookwise it is a very small old cafe. Its near the crossing on the same side of SG opposite to the petrol pump.

After 11 pm becomes tricky as the LEs in the van will try to loot you. Remember one thing, if they have caught you from the main road they can not make any charges against you. They know that very well. They will just try to scare you and extract money. It all depends on your attitude. If possible don't carry your personal mobile and carry only mongering mobile. That way you won't have the risk of the LEs threatening you to call your family members. And most important thing, do not argue with them or plead or beg to leave you. Whatever they say just smile at them sweetly and say I was just enjoying the streets of old Kolkata. If you want to hold me for that cool no problem. They try to take advantage of the fact that what will happen if our family come to know that we got caught in front of RLD. In one incident I had a free ride from 12 am to 1 am, paid 500 and left. Another time me and my friend slept in the van from 12 am to 4 am and left without paying a single penny.

Last but not the least. Do not go to SG without a pimp.

9. Pimps anyway get their cut of 30% irrespective of you take them or not, some one will tag along with you and claim it. So why not take their service for your benefit.

The brother who got caught recently, take it as a experience. This happens in all cities. I got duped in this way in my own native Chennai, Hyderabad and Kolkata in my early days. The mistake is over confidence and going with out pimp. Else I will still say SG is safe than other RLD in this country.

- all pimps are not the same. Different pimps deal with different buildings and have different ways of working. The pimp who can understand your exact needs, can make you feel comfortable and can handle a tough situation for you is the best.

- I prefer pickup and drop in a reliable taxi (with a very reliable and capable pimp in it) to avoid situations as faced by Xmanthekills. This involves extra costs and tips but safety first. Plan pickup and drop spot and route carefully.

- go for joint mongering with an experienced fellow if you are not so sure about SG.

- dress and look very simple. A bit shabby look is fine. Carry no valuables or jewellery or costly mobile. Just carry the required cash divided into several pockets.

- avoid danger spots. Particularly if you are alone.

- don't go to SG with a big group or with rowdies. I prefer not more than a group of 3 guys for joint mongering. The less attention you attract at SG. The better.

Since you are a very senior member I take this opportunity to help you out.

SG. After 8-9 pm if you hit the main road near the ATMs there is always a chance that you get picked up by police van if pimp is not there with you. It happened 2 times with me and both times after getting drunk I made the mistake of going out alone to ATMs to get money.

Thulla threatened him that this is my friend and drop him to hotel in 500 inr by 11:30 pm.

Seems now I was safe but no guys. 7th bummer of day was waiting for me. In taxi on vehicle having Police board hitted from behind. I though what the hell happened. Driver started to fought with them raced dangerously with them to get damage cost. He wanted to throw stone on theier car but I stopped him as I was already sucked up by full days drama. I tweeted incident to police and made 100 call for driver and reached hotel.
