I quantified this by making a girl profile. As I posted earlier, there is a fine balance between supply and demand.

A female profile, with an attractive pic and decent write up will be messaged by 50 people in the first day and 50 the first week.
Thereafter it will be 1-2 messages a day. Inactive profiles (1 month old and not online for a week) will get 1-2 messages a week.
(The number of messages will be more, but the same person might send multiple messages).
Some of the guys will be from out of town, with no intention to meet.
Others will be free members and they cannot read your reply.
Keep in mind that membership is expensive, men on the site will message as many as possible, even if not really interested in the pic or profile.

Realistically, a good profile will have about 80 people to exchange messages with and about 10 serious prospects. Not all of them will like that person after a VC, or agree to the rate, just as the girl may not agree to the monger's offer, or something may throw her off.

This will be enough for a girl, looking for long term. After a month on SA she would have a long term partner and maybe 1-2 one time or occasional meets, which would give her the money she was looking to make from SA. If a client drops out, they may come back looking for a replacement. My best relationships on SA were all on the site for less than a month and never returned.

Anyone on longer that this is a professional escort / pimp profile / scammer. They know that they get more messages if they are online, so people almost always online are pimps or scammers.
