Hi folks,

In spite of mongering for about 12 years, today I fell for the oldest trick in the book and got scammed in Chandigarh. I am posting this here to warn about the modus operandi and to highlight that there are scammers amongst us on the group.

Since I was travelling through Chandigarh on work and had time to kill, I asked for any reliable contacts on the forum on Chandigarh page. One guy reverted with a couple of contacts.

Contacted an inde given by him. She started asking for advance. Didn't fall for it and told her to cool off. Most likely our was some dude masquerading as a female.

Contacted the ISG member, who told he has not met her..

Chandigarh is as dry as a desert! And a curious thing I noted in Chandigarh is the masses of men with more money than they can possibly handle. Combine both and you have a paradise for scamsters! Another thing I noticed in here is that you can make genuine GF / GF's quite easily through social media sites / tinder / happen than any other city. All are from my personal observations over 3 years.

I am new member here and asked for help from some members and couple of members were decent enough to share some pointers. Went to a spa in India for the first time ever in my life. A member here suggested F* spa (name rhymes with Gems) in DC and took a coupon from nearbuy for 1 k.

Then contacted the SP number given in list, who sent across some pics. Went to the place told in Sector 20. I had a sixth sense feeling that something was amiss. A boy came along who told me that he would take me to the PG where the girl stayed. Never did this mistake but today have him the money before seeing the female. Obviously, I was left hanging.

The scammers number is 814xxxx116 Suresh. Request all guys to call him up so often that he is forced to change his number. At least some of us may be saved from getting scammed.

He is not receiving my calls. In case anyone wants to release his stress and frustration, atleast this number will be off use. Give him a piece of your mind, on my behalf, and relive your stress. He will pick up more unknown numbers in trying to scam more people.

The worst part is that either he himself may either be part of ISG. Or would have managed to scam others by floating their number.

Let's try to make it difficult for these guys to continue doing so.

All said and done. Feeling really stupid.

Despite proactively sharing whatever little info and pointers I gather during my spa sojourns with fellow mongers, it's disheartening that few of us are not so eager to share their leads.
