IMHO, if there is any flexibility in scheduling a first time or infrequent visitor should absolutely move their dates to at least a week before Ramadan or a week or two after the Idul Fitri holiday. Roughly speaking 90% of the mongering establishments will be closed the entire Ramadan and Idul Fitri period. The major exceptions are some venues that are operating within a hotel for example the 5* hotel bars, hotel travel, marioboro, Alexis etc.. For those that are open the will have shortened hours and muted operating practices. Furthermore the first weekend of Ramadan and a 4-7 day period around Idul Fitri (right after the fasting month) will have a 100% absolute shut down. I also believe this will be true for one weekend in the middle of the month as well.

This is an oft asked question and I could tell you to RTFF, but in reality the degree of openess varies from year to year. What's worse for planning is that you have no idea in advance how lenient things will be. However, if one does come RTFF will give you an idea of how places will operate if they do open.

If you are a resident or frequent visitor will a ripe full sets of contacts, Ramadan can be a real boon. Girls are quite eager to desparate to raise cash ASAP to return to the kampong and spoil there relatives and friends.
