I will be in santa cruz on vacation from may / 05 / to may / 10/2001. If anybody wants to get together and walk around, I think it would be safer. Then I will be going to riberalta-beni. After my visit to santa cruz, I will be posting my report on Santa Cruz.
Thanks,
El virginiano

From what I'm told some of the larger gas stations in Santa Cruz have pretty girls working in the gas stations. Pumping gas, checking your water and tyre pressure. All of the girls are young (18. 22) , very pretty and wear shorts and a skimpy top. Apparantly they are available for EXTRAS too. Can anyone confirm this please. Paul

You should have a wonderful time. Stay at nice hotel, talk to concierge about which cabbies will run transport, travia tours, a little light body gaurding on off hours. Where to go? They may refer you to an independent cabbie, but it should not be difficult to get a lot of help for a little money.

Hello, Guys, I am new to the site and I guess, the hobby. I would like to extend my gratitude with the wealth of information I have found on here. Someday, I hope to post a few reports myself.
I will be in Santa Cruz mid-April. I was hoping to hire a guide for 3 or 4 days to help with "showing us the ropes". Does any one wish to recommend such a person? He must come with a van to handle four of us.
Thanks in advance

If you want to visit the houses, I can help you there too. It is common at one of these to have new girls at mid day. They need to be instructed a little,. But cheap and fun.

Taxis from airport to hotel in SC are by law 50 Bolivianos, all other rides cheap
Los Tajibos is nicest hotel in town, bar none. But not too chica friendly. All girls must register at front desk. Then no problem, but many girls fresh from farms have no ID at all. So they can't register.
Hotel Milan is cheap, clean and honest. Across from plaza centro. Hard, small beds is only downer.
I personally like Cesars, even with mixed reviews here. A private dance room usually only 50 bolivianos ($7) if not wanting to be near crowd. Safe, well known place. 8 and 9 girls quite common on Fri and sat nights.
All places, if you order beer, they think you may be poor. I always order an expensive drink, and usually send away the first girl or two.
Numerous male servers. Tip one a few bucks and ask for the prettiest, or newest girl, whatever you fancy, and it will be worth while. Amber could be a prom queen in most US cities, but when I had her two weeks ago, she knew absolutely nothing, not even basic positions.
Ask for a "Boliviana" as most girls are from Paraguay, and they can be a little experienced for my tastes. Wish I had an air ticket.

Just returned from Santa Cruz, Bolivia. New to this forum. Nice info, thanks. Having been to all continents, and many of the World's large cities, I would say this city is unequivocally my favorite. Chicas are that mix of S. Amer and European that makes for stunning looks, yet very unsophisticated business structuring for the monger. Quiet, shy, and fresh off the farm in many cases. 11th trip to SC.

Yes Chicas available. From memory US$50 / 60 for incall.
Not the cheapest but good quality imho.
See my report from 19.05.2009 for a bit more info on S.C.
Enjoy,

I will be there next week, can someone suggest a good cheeka friendly hotel within "$50" range with wifi
Does the hotel offer cheeka service, if so what should I be paying?
Is that too much to ask ;-)

Santa Cruz
Thanks everybody for the posts, here's an update and my take on the clubs.
First thing to note: the nights for mongering in SC are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
Caesar's Palace: I didn't like it. It's a big place but no where near full. I went on a Wednesday and then again on Saturday. The dancers were pretty good, but the drinks were expensive by Bolivian standards, 60 Bolivianos for a beer. I didn't ask about the bar fine or chica drinks. I guess the place is worth a look but I would move on after a drink. Blown speakers in the sound system really annoyed me.
Currys: I was only there Wednesday, so it was slow. They had a show, a real show with a choreographed dance act. A girl sang. The chicas were pretty decent looking. Again, it was a Wednesday so less action. Worth a look, 40 Bolivianos entrada gets you a drink.
Cafe Show: This was my favorite and I was there three times. A lot of girls, good atmosphere. A mix of Bolivians, Paraguayas with a few Colombians and even a Brazilian. They had live music Saturday (well, singing and percussion and a keyboard, the rest generated by computer). Only 25 Bolivianos for a beer, 60 for a chica. The only thing that got me mad was one chica I was ready to take out, I bought her a drink and she finished it and said she wasn't interested and walked off! That has never ever happened to me before! Then I talked to the Brazilian, I asked first if she would leave with me and she said she couldn't, but that I could buy her a drink. I didn't know what was up with that. So I guess the point is negociate before you start spending money.
Kaprichoos: This is a new club, open only two months according to my taxi driver. It is located around the corner from Cafe Show, Calle Warnes 589. You can walk to it. This isn't a bad area of town, by the way, it's just the downtown area which is pretty much deserted at night. Kaprichoos was pretty good, 30/60 your drink/her drink. About 15 girls, most pretty hot. Not as lively as Cafe Show but a good place.
Cartegena Whiskeria: Somewhere on the fourth anillo, I think, not that far from Equipetrol. A drunkards dream if I ever did see one. 15 Bolivianos for a 600 ml beer! Dark, slow, great sound system, a few lazy hos lounging about. If you like slumming it, there's your place!
General Thoughts on Santa Cruz: I really didn't like the way the city is laid out, and downtown itself was pretty boring. They don't have a lot of bars or coffee shops for some reason. Most everything is right around the Plaza 24 de Septiembre, or Plaza Principal as the locals call it. The "Irish" Pub is about the best place to go for food and drink, and Lorca on the corner of the square at Sucre and Moreno is good also. Note the names of the streets change at the Plaza, in all four directions.
If you stay in Equipetrol you have essentially your hotel and nothing else. I stayed at the Royal which was overpriced even at the 50 dollars I negociated them down to, but it was alright and the staff was good. Horrible coffee.
I would recommend the Yotau All Suites hotel if you want the best and want to stay out of the center, 100 US, you could probably bargain. www.yotau.com.bo.
I would probably stay in the Gran Hotel Santa Cruz, Calle Moreno 269. www.granhotelsantacruz.com. I would rather stay downtown where I could walk to the Irish Pub for a beer at night.
ATMs: Yes, don't let me forget! When you get to the airport (Viru Viru) the ATM machines are for some reason located upstairs in the departure lounge.
Coca: My taxi driver said the best place to get a bag of coca leaves was Coca Social. It's a chain, they have a store about two blocks from the Plaza Principal on Junin.

Posts: 34Well apparently I chose the wrong weekend to visit Santa Cruz. Everything, and I mean everything - is closed. Bars, restaurants, clubs, you name it. Save for the religious parades, it's a ghost town. Still, I love the climate..
If anyone knows of anything open this weekend, I'm your wingman. For mongering or just hanging out, first drink's on me.
