St Nicks vs an agency or a bar pickup.

I would surely make arrangements to rent a cab and go to St Nick.

The chicas there are checked every week for health.

You never know what youi get in a bar or an agency.

Oj is very close by, and there are the local bars you can go to, but without a local intro, I don't know how successful you will be. The stuff you do there happens in the back room and it kind of scary (the whole process). I mean its a great adventure, but when they take you back there, and unlock the shackles, its kind of creepy.

SN on the otherhand is a guarantee, everything out in the open, just go window shopping during the day or bar hopping at night.

But it is a substantial drive possibly an hour depending on where you depart from.

SN is located on the other end of the island as compared to the tourists. So you might want to factor that in.

You probably won't have time for 2 different options, so I would suggest you pick one and go with it.

The drive thru aspect during the day is pretty cool. You can shop from your car and your chica will tell you where to park and may even chase off a beggar for you. But there really isn't a problem, even in the back alleys.

Cruise it during the day to get comfortable. At night, if you stay on the Main street you'll have about 20 clubs to cruise in perfect safety. Charlies Bar (non monger venue) is a big tourist attraction and is open fairly late, so there will be tourists and police in the area.

The police do regular patrols of all the streets and alleys. Unlike the US, they aren't looking to bust mongers. They are there to protect us. It works, it is safe enough, I have walked the back alleys at night, even the more remote and secluded areas, both alone and with a wingman and have never felt threatened. If any of the guys that are hanging out talk to you, it's usually to make sure you are having fun and have all the "supplies" you might need. Chat with them, swap a few jokes and all will be cool. Most of them have been there for years and once they get to know you, they will watch out for you and your car.

The agencies in Aruba are all pretty legit. I have tried a few of them. They deliver to your hotel, usually within the hour. In reality, they have drivers waiting in SN to get a girl from a bar. The girl, the bar, the driver and the agency all get paid. By you. A car is much cheaper, gives you control and gives you the freedom to really enjoy the wonderful island.

If you feel the need for a softer introduction, one of the services, I think Yap Yum, offers a red light tour. They take you in a limo and escort you to a few bars, wait for you and bring you home. It can be a good intro for a beginner. But you will be tagged as that rich guy in the limo for the rest of your trip, even when you go back on your own.

There is a fair chance that I will be there the same time as your trip. I'll know for sure in a few days. If so, I'll be happy to show you around.

    Have fun.

Many thanks Pogo for your very helpful reply. I may well go down to St Nic with a driver (but preferably not the limo!) , I'll ring round when I get there and see what's what. All good wishes for your trip, too.

I'm not as good at fending off the local crackheads as I used to be LOL. I think I'll ring Aruba Aeaven and another one Yap Yum Aruba (they're on Facebook) when I get there and see how it sounds. Will definitely post a report if I manage to get fixed up, will be there on 29th Jan.

All the best to any of my fellow cruisers on the prowl!

Yea, its not as cracked out as you imagine. The main determinant for you should be rental car or not. If no car then its a lot of trouble goin to St. Nic and you never know what the current class of imports contains. With a car however, you'd HAVE TO go and check it out. At least in the daylight anyway, if your nervous, for the pickings can be quite good and very safe (in fact you could bring one back to the hotel without ever getting out of your car). As for agencies, I've used a couple but I think not the 2 you listed (though the one named Yum on facebook sounds interesting. I'm not on facebook so if you could PM me the number / site I would appreciate it) and had generally good results but expensive but I think you know that already. Good luck.

If you do an agency, you are locked into the one girl they choose for you. If you go on your own, you can do your own 'window' shopping and choose whoever and as many as you like, for the off prime price!

The best way to accomplish this, would be to rent a car or rent a taxi. I believe you would most likely have to go to the airport to rent a car, but I could be wrong. You can arrange for a taxi to be your 'guide' for 6 hours or so, while boat is in port. Taxi drivers will bring you to St Nicolas, wait for you while you are busy, take you to the next spot to get busy, grab some beers with you, and take you back to your ship, for a fixed $$ amount.

Aruba is simple to navigate, if you get lost, keep driving, you'll end up where you want to go eventually.

But YMMV and all the info you need, has been posted already in the Forum.

    Cheers.

Has anyone used the Aruba Heaven escort agency? More expensive, but apparently they will pick you up from the port area and return you. Wonder if they're "reputable" and worth a try?

You are expected to buy the chiacas a chica drink for which they get a coupon for cash later.

In the daytime, you have to drive down the alley behind the bars and find chica from the clubs in the doorways.

There are one or two open in the daytime. I remember Carolinas was open last time I was there.

You get more time in the afternoon.

Do not be bothered by guys hanging around offering to "watch" your car. They are harmless.

I would love to hear your report as the refinery was closed when I was there last and business and the chica supply was very moderate.

    Good Stripclubs and bar?

    Hello, Guys,

I'm planning to end this in year in Aruba and was wondering if there are any good strip clubs / bars in San Nicolas and Oranjestad? I googled around a bit and found Monaco bar, Las Vegas bar and Brooklin bar. What is the setup in these bars? Do these bars have adult entertainment (stripping / dancing) or are they only just pick up places for chicas?
