My two cents.

The dangerous areas are roughly Zacamil, Mejicanos, Cuscutancingo, Soyopango and Ilopango, basically the northern and eastern parts of San Salvador. I was also told that El Centro was dangerous but I never had any trouble there. There are so many security guards and police all over it that somebody would have to be crazy to start any trouble. As long as you stay in the central and eastern parts of SS you shouldn't have any problems. The only problems that I had were mongering related and only with the street girls.

I did go to some of the more dangerous parts of the city but I was with a native who knew his way around. A couple of days before I left we came across a murder where a bus controller had been shot in a gang killing in Mejicanos I believe. I have come to believe that working on buses in El Salvador is probably one of the most dangerous jobs in the world. There were murders almost every day on the buses. I would read about them in the papers or see them on TV. Gangs charge bus owners and drivers rent and if they don't pay the rent they kill a driver or conductor. It is brutal.

I also traveled outside of SS to the far north and west. The more dangerous areas are north up as far as Aguilares. I never had any trouble anywhere though. I was more worried about all the police checkpoints than anything else.

I do believe that the threat of danger is overblown but you need to use your head. What danger there is is very real and brutal.

Come to think of it that is probably worth at least five cents.

I have been there less than 10 times, but what I was trying to say is that there are bad areas in SS, as you yourself admit. But if you don't know the city that well, as admittedly I don't, then I really don't know which are the bad areas. I thought you were saying that there were no bad areas, which is why I said you were naive, but obviously this isn't what you intended to say. My bad. It appears we really are on the same page.

Lorenzo, I have been to El Salvador over the last 4 years over 100 times. This is no exageration. Would I want to walk around Soyapongo, Ilopong or Apopa at night NO. I am not sure who would though. In the USA we have many bad areas and no one in there right mind walks around there at night either.

The list of clubs I mentioned before I have been to all of them. Never once had the hint of trouble and was welcomed with open arms. I have been to Acahuctla, COsta del Sol, San Miguel virtually every where in EL SAL and never had any issue. In fact people I thought might give me trouble actually were the most helpfull. Some of those places are not in the best area but also not in the "hood" Every hotel I have stayed at has been excellent. The service, security, friendlyness et.

Maybe you want to tell people not to go to El Salvador and warn them that it is dangerous so the place does not become a tourist trap like Costa Rica, Panama et. Those countries have been ruined by American tourists. The price for everything there now is very high. I do not want EL SAl to become a tourist trap either, but you and I both know there are large sections of the city and the country which are extremely safe.

When there is a Security guard at every hotet, club, resteraunt entrance with a machette and a rifle no one is going to fuck with you inside.

Anyway that is my opinion and maybe you had a bad experience but one thing I am not is Naive about EL SAL. Its my second home

Yeah, I am more of a GFE guy. I go to the clubs a couple of nights in a row get to know the one I want then make her mine for the rest of the trip. Thats my usual game so I don't usually do the massage parlors or one hr sex deals. However EL SAL has some great ones with what many people always say Kiss Fresh being the best. I just don't know why they close so damn early at 8pm. I think its a noise oridinace thing as it is in a neighborhood. I'm just waking up at 8pm.

Good! Got some interesting viewpoints, which is what I wanted. Have to agree with Mfins, have never felt unsafe in SS, but then, I don't go into the bad areas and don't go looking for trouble either, so it is a two way street. Knowing me, I probably won't bother with the escorts, it is true, there are so many options, and I always like the lineups, being able to choose, then have a drink with her and see if there is any chemistry beyond sex and money (does there need to be anything else!) I am asking more out of interest if anyone has done this, and what the result was. Mfins, I have to chuckle, that is what the autohotels are for, so you don't have to bring them up to the room in the snooty hotel. I like the casas for just that, I can stay at the Real or Hilton and never worry about bringing them up. You are paying for the room so I don't see what the problem is, other than probably phoney hypocrisy, but that is life. Probably if you did not have 2 waiting downstairs, and slipped the guy a $20 or so, he would have looked the other way

No I don't remember any landmarks near the place that I went to. I am no longer in ES so I can't help you. The place is really not hard to find particularly at night. Just look for lots of blue and green neon lights and the guy with the shotgun. I have to say that I have never seen as many girls at a place as there was there. If I was to guess I would say 60 to 70. It was crazy.

Also I had a bad experience at Pradera. We went to leave and the roll up door would not open. They must have some way to disable the switch. I had done nothing wrong and had paid in full so I don't know what the problem could have been. I climbed up on the trunk of the car and pulled the release and opened the door by hand. Shotgun guy was outside and I thought that I might be in trouble but after they called for management and they looked stern and rattled on in spanish for a while which I didn't understand they finally indicated that I could go. I never figured out what the problem was but I am going to avoid the place on return trips.

The people down there are so appreciative to have you visit there country and are incredibley welcoming. Unlike, many other tourist overrun places.

Just act appropriate and you will have no ISSUES. There are gangs down there but they just rob and shoot each other.

One time about 4am drunk I called three different girls to come to my hotel from the Mundo at 10am the next day. First one showed up came up stairs and was nice. Like pic except a big scar on her stomach. Real big. Surgery of some kind. Not trying to be mean but it was not attractive and I actually felt bad for her. While she was there the other two showed up about 10 minutes apart and the hotel lobby called me and said so and so is here to see you can she come up. Well the first one was still in the room and she was not at all happy about having another girl come up. So I told the Hotel reception desk to send them away. When I checked out the next day, I got a lecture from the Manager saying they do not appreciate those types of girls coming to the hotel and politely told me I was not welcome back. This was not a motel but a nice Hotel in El Sal. In anycase I am rambling. To answer your question the one I got was cheap and looked like the picture but with so many options in EL SAL I don't see any reason to take the risk with calling one up blind. You can easily shop around at different places and look before you buy.

Safety is a legitimate concern. Why not have the escort meet you in a public place, then take a taxi back to where you are staying? And if she is "fea," just give her cab fare and send her on her way.

Here's, a few names to help you out if you go down to el sal. Ask a cab driver he will know but if he doesn't make sure he radios to someone before he starts driving you all over the country side. Be firm with the cabbies too. Don't let him talk you into somewhere that you don't want to go. Those are all places which are open. They are all for lack of a better word, strip clubs which do extra in house or you can take out. Some have covers some don't. Prices will range in house from $30 up to $200 for take out and TLN. All are safe just act appropriately

Mighty1, for the second place you mentioned, the one you went to, are there any landmarks in the area that would help to find it? Doesn't sound like.

I found a few more club / bars just driving around. These are all places with loud music and will hustle you for drinks. Not my kind of places but these are the only kinds of places open after 8PM.

One is the Climax club / bar. It is located on Blvd. Constitucion just about one block north of Juan Pablo Segundo. It is big and well lit up. You can't miss it. I have not been to it.

The other two are on 29 Calle Poniente.

One is the Galaxy. It is just west of 25 Avineda Norte about half a block on the north side of the street. It is easy to miss during daylight hours but there is a big neon sign at night. Just look for the guy with the shotgun. I have not been into it.

The other is just west of 19 Avineda Norte also on the north side of the street. There is no name on the front but plenty of neon lights. I visited it to check it out. This is a big place and there are a LOT of girls here of varying attractiveness. The music was not unbearably loud and the drink hustling was low pressure. They want 6 bucks for a beer. I chose Karina who asked 40 but came down to 30. She was very nice and friendly and I had a very good time with her. Seemed like a good place.
