I recently visited the famous sois and found both number two and fie dang going strong with quite a few girls, though my favorite house in soi 2 is still closed. You know how in these sois one's chances of good sex is minute? Well, usually in a weekend long visit, after several discouraging attempts, each time wasting 300-800 baht, I will finally have that one really good experience that makes the visit worthwhile. It is as simple as this. The great majority of girls in these sois resist you and resent you (I think they do resent all their customers but the farang far, far more than the Thai) , and only the very rare one will make any attempt to make your experience enjoyable. Why go there? Just go for short times at the secret sois: 300-800 baht. I think at those bars they try to ask very high rates, like 300 bar fines and 1000 short times. The pickings there seem meager to me, not many girls and the few good looking ones won't go with punters.

As for short time rooms I think most hotels offer short time rates but the bungaloes which specialize in that are mostly on Adulyadet soi 7.

Yes, some do sell it, Koolkid, particularly near the farang-area. They tend to ask for 100 baht per sachet, and they don't seem to want to bargain much like in Pattaya.

I hesitate to mention the exact pharmacy because it could get them in trouble, so I'll just say try any pharmacies near the 'farang soi' where you find Top Mansion and beer bars, or on the street from Central to the train station.

Been in Udon many times never needed to get Vitamin V up here but there are some excellent pharmacies in town.

There is one near the corner of the road down to robinsons. On the side of the bus station english not good but very helpful.

There is a good one upstairs in Big C.

Also there is a Boots in the complex but not really into that sort of thing I would say.

Prices will be more than Pattaya or Bangkok.

Soi 2 mostly still open but markedly more low key and furtive, as if there is a subtle change in policy, and my favorite house has been closed down by the police! Just one of the mid-priced houses, but the one where I consistently had a better time than in the others. Good looking girls with more of a wholesome whorish attitude rather than the unpleasant phoney-demure you get in most Asian-oriented venues such as these. Ah well, I had to settle for second best. What a waste of a trip. Didn't check Soi Sow Fie Dang. Prices still 800 at the fancy house and 500 quoted (and held to stringently) at the others for most girls, with 600 quoted for the better looking girls.

On the way also spent a few days in Khon Kaen. The bus station scene continues the same as before. Too many of the wrong gender, and when crusing by in the car it is not so easy to tell, but also usually about 3-4 poor quality real girls and maybe 3-4 doable ones. The ones worth doing will always try hard to bargain for more than the 500 that the undesirables will redily go for. Really it is hard for a foreigner to get anything less than 700-800 here for a cute girl - after all they do strongly dislike farang.

At the soapies I had good experiences, just due to good luck really, at both Kosa and Ceasar (2300 and 1800 respectively, with 500 baht tips in both places for the. Extra good service). The 2300 was for a sideline girl, and I do recommend them as all of my 'good experiences' at Kosa have been with this class of itinerants (the permanent regular girls are all too professional to ever give a GFE or extra-good service). Be informed that prices are now up 100 baht. 1,100 for the lone old lady on the left. 1800 for the so-so girls. 2100 for the doable standards, and 2300 for the sidelines.

I looked at Villa and I still highly recommend this venue as they are very friendly, honest, and helpful compared to the other two (particularly the very elderly sort of gnome-looking man). Villa girls also generally give better service, but I just couldn't see paying 1300 for a so-so looking 25-30 year old when down the street I could have a very cute 20 year old for 1800 (Ceasar) or a quite polished and girly 23 year old for 2300 (Kosa). I guess I've totally lost my budget-cred by now, eh gents?
