So I played around with Momo, WeChat, Tagged, and Badoo for a while. Seems like Badoo and Tagged are mostly for foreigners, though some 30 and up Chinese women are on there as well. Tagged in a spam-athon and doesn't work very well. The girls on Momo look like something from a cartoon. All of them are blinged out with makeup and charms and poses. It seems that most girls are between 18 and 24, and anyone above 30 looks 20 years older than their stated age. Some kind of cronological divide. Most girls seem to ignore requests, probably due to the age gap, but a few respond. For someone like myself in my mid-30s though, WeChat seems to most successful. It is not purely a dating app, and actually the dating funtionality is a side-feature, giving it legitimacy with the SO around. The problem is, all of these are location-based, and being a person who has lived in Beijing for several years, many of the girls I chat with turn out to be connected to me in one way or another.
