Curitiba definitely has it's appeals. It is much safer than most other cities in Brazil of that size. The people are well mannered and mellow. It is a well organized and prosperous city. The majority of people there are light-skinned and of European descent (sometimes a good thing). But it's just not a place that tourists have much reason to visit. There are some nice things to see and do and it has good nightlife but the nearest beaches are HOURS away. Ilha do Mel is gorgeous but a long trip from Curitiba.

I lived in Curitiba and its one of the cleanest and nicest cities I have ever been to. My biggest problem with Curitiba? No mulattas! If you love big, round asses the way I do, then you will hate the city. You can go weeks without seeing a brasilian bunda! Curitiba is straight up white girls with no booty!

From what I've read it would seem Fortaleza is getting duller lately. Especially if you compare the scene to Rio. I don't really like Termas or Bordellos, more bars or pick-up joints. Termas do seem to have the security of a controlled environment but less freedom to negotiate a deal with the girl.

Yeh, costs are lower because about the only people who go there are local businessmen doing work. With the upcomming World Cup no doubt it should get more international attention. Costs there are still quite a bit higher than what you are used to in the LOS. I love Curitiba and will be back there early next month, but I still spend most of my time in Rio because despite the increased costs it simply can't be beat in Brazil.

Concerning the Termas, if you click with a garota it is easy to negotiate almost anything you can imagine. Including arranging a meeting with them at the beach or at your place during their off time. It all depends on how much a lady or ladies want to see you on their off time and what (compensation) the parties are willing to agree to.

Your abilities in Portuguese will help immensely in getting around and meeting new "friends".

You are not going to find any places to stay in Brazil at $15-$30 / day as you will in Thailand. And you definitely won't find a club girl for $30 / night as you will in Thailand either. Imagine $60 for 90 minutes in a soapie in Thailand vs the >$100 these guys are paying for 40 minutes in a termas.

Those are crazy prices compared to Thailand for sure. I could have a foursome for $100 in Thailand but I do like diversity and thought I'd expand my horizons. I had Brazilian girlfriends before and do like the Brazilian bundas. Still yeah, Brazil seems to be expensive nowadays.

Whatever you are used to paying in Thailand multiply that cost by 3 to 4 times and this is what you can expect in Rio or São Paulo. The one exception is Curitiba, but that is off the beaten path for most travelers.

Thailand isn't perfectly safe. If you can speak a bit of the language if you have at least functional Portuguese skills.

Don't even think of visiting during New Years, Carnaval or the World Cup if you don't want to have to pay through the nose for everything a deal with huge crowds, congestion and crazy tourists.

I know Thailand isn't perfectly safe but I hear a lot more stories, also from people I know getting robbed in Brazil.

I speak decent enough Brazilian-Portuguese as I used to communicate with my Brazilian girl friends 70% of the time in Portuguese.

Last December I was in Portugal and people thought I lived there.

I WAS thinking about visiting during the world cup as I love the Brazilian play style but I know that's just an inconceivable plan.

The odds don't look good as of now to be honest.

Brazil isn't a good place if you want to engage in P4P on a budget. Stick with SEA for that. Whatever you are used to paying in Thailand multiply that cost by 3 to 4 times and this is what you can expect in Rio or São Paulo. In other cities prices aren't as high, however the options are limited and quality not as good IMO. The one exception is Curitiba, but that is off the beaten path for most travelers.

Fortaleza has some nightlife options and some pretty dames. Plus nice beaches, but I find it rather dull. It all depends on what you like. Do you like the bar scene (with working women) or do you like good old fashioned bordellos? As was already mentioned Termas are a Rio institution and they aren't any in Fortaleza or hardly any other city in Brazil (actually Sampa has a couple but they stay as discrete as possible).

Thailand isn't perfectly safe. You have to know that- but no doubt Brazil is decidely less safe especially if you are wandering around late at night by yourself and drunk in a bad part of town. If you can speak a bit of the language this will help a lot in terms of safety and also chatting up with the local dames. Much easier to hook up with non-pros if you have at least functional Portuguese skills.

Brazil isn't Thailand so it's like comparing apples & oranges. Just expect to pay more for your thrills and good times if you do decide to make a trip to Brazil. Don't even think of visiting during New Years, Carnaval or the World Cup if you don't want to have to pay through the nose for everything a deal with huge crowds, congestion and crazy tourists.

There is a reason that I moved from Brazil to Thailand. Mainly because my $500 / month place doubled because of exchange rate and I have the same size place in Thailand for $150 / month plus free internet and other ammenities. I was interested in reading about your adventures in Thailand, but there are none, even though you've been going for years. (What up with that, Dawg?) Hi fellow enthusiasts,

I need some, well actually, a lot of advice about Brazil I would highly appreciate it if you guys could help me out some.

First of all a little background info so you have a better idea how to guide me by your information. I'm a male of mixed Euro-African-Asian-American descent. I'm 42 but look about 35 and in good shape. I speak multiple languages including Spanish and some Portuguese.

I've never been to Brazil but would like to go in 2014 around March, April, May or June. I sure would like to be there during the World Cup in July but I think that will be freakin' expensive.

The goal of my trip firstly is women. Secondly sight seeing. I've been going to Thailand for some years now so I'm kind of spoiled when it comes to service but mainly price. That accounts for both women and hotels. Thailand is cheap compared to Brazil from what I've read. I mean I'm used to $20 apartment an $25-$35 short time girls. Or $40-$60 for high end girls.

So I ask you brothers, for mongering purposes which place is better; Rio De Janeiro or Fortaleza.

I mean Fortaleza seems to have easier access to girls, cheaper then Rio, maybe more compact scene not sure though.

Rio from what I've read the girls there are considered more beautiful than Fortaleza, can anybody clarify in what way.

Rio seems more expensive, not only girls but definitely hotels.

In general I believe it is hard to find hotels that are girl friendly in Rio and Fortaleza. ?

Also let's say if in Forta chances for girls are better I could also do both and also get some sight seeing done in Rio.

Anybody got info on local flghts between Forta and Rio?

From what I've read Termas are a big thing in Rio and street freelancing scene maybe a bit risky?

What about Termas and freelancers in Forta? Less risky?

By the way Thailand is pretty safe when walking alone late night but from what I've read some areas can be dangerous in Brazil. True?

Can anyone help me with the pros and cons in order to decide where it's best for a first timer like me to go.

Finally, Duda's Massagen has a website up and running. Do not know why this took years, considering Bel prazer, M. Tijuca, Casa19 (Closed) and Duda's have the same owner. All of them had website except Duda's.

Sadly, I'm yet to see a massage place in Rio that wasn't a low-budget and boring affair. The clinicas in Sampa & Curitiba are far nicer, a little more expensive but you get what you pay for. The exchange rate is much better than it has been in a while so at least it negates some of the inflation that has been going on in Brazil.

Walked in late during the day, I was in the mood for a spinner. There was only one, and she was cute, but quiet. Her name is Raissa. Cute smile, long curly brown hair, morena. 120r for an hour. Kid, you are assuming girls like these thug in steroid types. Maybe these out of shape guys were fun to be around and not meatheads like that mma fighter displayed. Women are a different breed. They don't care as much about looks as we do. You always see average or ugly guys with good looking girls, but rarely see ugly chicks with in shape model type guys. A guy who works out in his 20's or 30's who is thin and has a cool relaxed personality will always get girls over the steroid rude in shape gym rat asshole type.

Is restaurant Meia Pataca closed nowadays, that used to be place where to get girls in the afternoons? Did it die with Help?

Also in the front of the Meia Pataca, there was part of the beach where you could find girls, Praia de Putas. There are no girls in that beach anymore to be find in the afternoon?

There used to be same kind of beach in Ipanema also, little after posto 9, where you could find girls sometimes, is there still activity?

I have not been in Rio for many years and haven't followed Rio forum, but I am considering if I would visit there again.

Walked by Meia Pataca many times, my apartment was a block away, the place was dead each time, not many customers period, the few that I seen where regular families. They maybe changing the name, toward the end of my trip the name of the place was covered up. Walked the beach in front of Meia Pataca and Rio Othan a few times never seen anyone I could definitely say was a hooker, could of been bad timing or my inexperience but most girls were in groups with guys. Only seen a few girls on their own and none ever approached me or gave me the look or even noticed me at all. But as I said I walked by both on the beach and the side walk, had I rented a chair or laid down a blanket and stayed I may have eventually been approached or given the look. Spoke with a few Balcony girls I picked up and asked them what they did during the day and a few told me they went to the beach. One can assume if the Balcony girls are going to the beach there is still some action available. If they are on the beach they are not overly obvious and it may be hit or miss as far as timing. The only definite action now on Copacabana is Balcony bar, afternoon has some talent but not a lot in the evenings the numbers start to pick up. Daytime Balcony will have zero to maybe four or five girls available, in the evening 20 to 25 tops and that may be a bit high as far as numbers go.

KC, you are right, that approach would probably work most times. But that is not the average young brasilian men's technique. Their style is the cave man approach! Grab a female but the arm, pull her toward you and try to stick your tongue down her throat. If she resists, smack her or throw a beer on her.
