Don't you think creating an app for this is an overkill. Wonobo. Com already gives us a street view which I think is a more powerful medium.

Also I don't know about others, but I certainly feel uncomfortable taking out my phone in the not so civilized SG streets. I fear being targeted when spotted using a mid to high range phone (gps won't come with lower end phones right?)

Still creating such an app would be great. It would showcase the ability of community to come together and create something of value with no expectations of any material returns, only praise and well wishes.

As said I went to Sada Bari, Next Entrance just after SOLITUDE Saloon. But no one was there in Ground Floor. This led to some confusion. Whenever you will reach building number 412 or KD both are the same. You will find the maasi on first floor. The cost is 540 for an hour and aprox 1700rs for whole night. There may be 200-300rs increase decrease in the LT rates. You can enjoy threesome and foursome also if you want.

Thanks to everyone for showing interest in this epic effort to map sonagachi once and for all. If this get implemented with the support and blessing of senior members, then it will change the historic course of mongering in Sonagachi.

I never meant that a brand new apps to be developed (however that would be fuckingly awesome ). What I proposed is that there is apps available on android marketplace (google play) which if used on android phone can be used to get the gps coordinate of various baris and building. The coordinates then can be communicated in the open forum to members. Members then can use that gps coordinate in google map to see exact location of the baris and buildings.

You only need to go to google play and search for GPS location, many apps will come up, use any one of them, which is free. I am sure there would be apps in apple ios well that would be free. One example of such apps in android is "GPS coordinates and location".

Many post by newbies and few by experienced member are about the location and whereabouts of various buildings and baris in SG.

What I would propose is that, nowadays many of us carry smart phone (with GPS) with us all the time. Many apps are available which can be used to find longitude and latitude of a particular place with great accuracy. This number can be used to get exact location using google map.

This is just a proposal, hope senior members of the forum will give their valuable feedback regarding its viability and suggestion for improvement.
