FKK Artemis - Berlin

I have to mention that Berlin is one of the lesser safe cities in Germany and its police is notoriously understaffed. I recall there were also some incidents in the U- or S-Bahn not too long ago.Haha, I was actually thinking of going there tomorrow and taking that route (and I won't pay extra for the taxi just because of that). Actually, do you regulars here think that's a good idea or will it be too crowded?

The incidents were quite a while ago, on S-Bahns but in very different more outlying areas of the city. Berlin is one of Germany's,Europe's, indeed the world's safer cities, especially considering all the sex drugs and rock and roll that goes on here, with a somewhat high rate of unemployment and mix of foreigners. Though there is no one, simple good source, you can knock yourself out on these stats-

Of over 330 cities, Berlin ranks around 285 (dump the table into an excel sheet and sort by the crime number)-better than London, Paris, Stockholm, Copenhagen, all major US cities, and even rich Hamburg, and essentially tied with Frankfurt, though worse than Muenchen, the safest big city in DE.

This really was a sad, weird one off, and surely no one marked our unlucky victim (think about that-how could it possibly make sense, with hundreds walking through there every night, to single out one person, unknown, unknown exit time etc). Just bad luck and don't wish it on anyone but it is extremely rare and unusual, esp there. The tiny road in question just between the main street and over the bridge, before you get to the station is, in the wee wee hours dark and deserted and so a ripe place, but this was just a fluke thing. Unless it was our old pal Norjan, seeking revenge...

Just use common sense, don't sit in an S Bahn car alone, and if really late or early in the morning, if at all possible, walk with another. You could just wait at the front door and ask as people leave who is going to Westkreuz station.

On busy-ness Thurs Himmelfart (you gotta love that name) night, I kind of doubt it. Many Berliners will be gone, a few girls likely also, but possibly a few new recruits and while some tourists might be in, probably a wash. It has been oddly busier on the weekends lately so who knows. But it surely won't be a big deal either way.

Normally yes, but not at 3:30 am. Me too have been walking that road many times at pretty much any time of the day or night. While I never had any problem either I do remember though that it is one of those streets where I put on my mental alert in the middle of the night, because it is rather dark and deserted. Not that I think it would have helped much in the situation described by FL. Yes, normally this one of the better areas of town, also I think its rather unlikely that this incident was connected in any way to your A visit, but you never know. Lots of people take the public transport to and from Artemis, maybe even the majority. Unfortunetely, while its not that bad on a global scale, I have to mention that Berlin is one of the lesser safe cities in Germany and its police is notoriously understaffed. Really sorry you had such a shocking experience and thank you for reporting it. Wether you have been marked somehow by people who saw you earlier that evening I believe no one. At least no one here. Will be able to answer that. However you can be sure many if not most Artemis guests are tourists, business people etc. From different countries and if we take into account there are roughly a few hundred guests per day and at least some of them take the same walk as you did I really want to believe this was an isolated incident. I sincerely wish you never have such a bad experience ever again and of course I wish no one else will. Please keep us posted.

By the way I have been with a new German girl a few times now I find highly attractive. Her name is Xenia but as I said she is not to be confused with the former Xenia who had been at Arte for years now. The new Xenia is a German brunette probably in her mid twenties, roughly 5'5' in height, beautiful natural slim body and with a gorgeous angelic face...

The new German girl I mentioned in my report might be the same one. I saw her on Wednesday but not Thursday. (My dates were off by one in my initial report). She was reserved and seldom walked around. I approached her. (I prefer approaching myself and really dislike being approached by the girls at Artemis). She and I had a great session together. Afterwards, I noticed no guys approached her despite her being probably the best girl out there. So I talked to her a few times about. She complained that guys just ignored her and went for other girls whom I considered undesirable. Eventually I caught lying on a seat downstairs almost sobbing to herself. So I dragged her back to the bar, told her to sit with me, in the middle of the bar, and maintained an open body stance toward the floor instead of the closed one she had been in all night. Eventually some guy passed and examined her with obvious interest. He thought she was with me and walked away. I grabbed him and recommended her to him. That's when she scolded for saying those silly words. I apologized and we decided that I stepped away for a moment now that she was in an open, high-traffic spot with proper body language. (I used to spend a lot of time on bar pickups). Shortly afterwards she hooked up with a youngish looking guy. I was happy for her. The sad part is when I saw her again a couple of hours later and greeted her, she turned a cold shoulder. C'est la vie.

Part of the reason why I went back to Artemis on Thursday was to see if she came back. She didn't. Her name was Lana. She's from Nurnburg.

I've been walking in the area many times very later in the night during Summer and Winter, I never felt unsafe.

I did withdraw 200 euros at the ATM in the club because I decided to stay longer. I initially wanted to stop by for just a couple of hours before going out to the pubs to try my pickup game. But when I was about to leave the first time, it was already too late. So I took out some cash and stayed for another hour and a half and did a (so-so) session with a cute Romanian girl.

So someone might have seen me taking out cash at the ATM and informed his / her robber friend.

The girls at Artemis were very aggressive. I turned almost all of them, some multiple times. This might have caused resentment. Maybe some girl decided to call up her friend to whack me for being repeatedly turned down by me.

Also, my initial report had the dates off by one. The mugging occurred on Friday morning, 3:20 AM. I went to Artemis on Wednesday and Thursday nights. Artemis was very busy on Wednesday. But on Thursday there were more girls than guys.

No problem with Artemis nor the cabs. I was walking to the S Bahn station. I should've taken the cab instead, in hindsight.

I would chalk it up to wrong place wrong time. The assailant probably saw an opportunity waiting for a single guy coming out from an establishment where customers can afford to potentially drop several hundred euros or more. I would be concern taking public transportation in the middle of the night even in NYC unless we're talking about the major subway interchanges (eg W4th/Union Square etc).

In 9 years of doing this, first I ever hear of it. It is not dangerous. Any big city, any where in the deepest night, can be a problem. It was just wrong place wrong time.

It indeed happened on that road by the tire store. When I went to Artemis, I also took the s bahn and walked the road. The area looked very peaceful and safe. I walked past the tire shop on my way to Artemis and was seen by two guys working there. I wonder if someone saw me walking to Artemis and decided to wait for me to come back at night.

It did seem to be an isolated incident. However it shattered my previous assumption that Berlin was safe and a lot safer than New York City.

I went to Artemis on both Thursday and Friday last week (22-23 May). Thursday night was very busy. I only went with three girls. The best was a German girl who just started coming here. I forgot her name. She didn't show up on Friday. The next day I saw four. My absolutely best experience was with a tall, slender, model-looking girl from Hungary. We had hood chemistry. Probably due to the contrast with my previous session with a tall, pretty but mechanical girl from Moldova, I tipped her 40 euros. She said it was too much. I told her I really liked her. It might have been excessive. 20 might have been appropriate.

In any case, I left at 3:15 AM and made a fatal mistake of walking to the S Bahn station nearby. I came by S75 and that street "Am Westkreuz" looked normal. Besides, Charlottenburg, where Artemis is, is a safe neighborhood. Well, I nearly died because of that stupid decision. A man with a pistol accosted me after I turned right from the main street. He pepper sprayed me and hit me with the canister when I tried to pull away from him. I felt to the ground. During the struggle, a cab and a passenger car went by (from S Bahn). I called for help, to no avail. As I sat on the ground, I took out my wallet and handed it to him. He wanted to strike me again or do something more sinister, I sensed danger and ran away. He chased me a little bit. I managed to outrun him and went to the middle of the main road. Blood in my face, I cried for help. At least half a dozen cars went by before one stopped. Two German women came out of the car and called the police and the ambulance for me. I had five stitches on my forehead.

I don't whether my assailant had me marked. Many cabdrivers and maybe one or two girls at Artemis saw me walking in without a cab and walking out to the main road. The police said they had no robberies in that area prior to misfortune.

I blame myself for lowering my guard. Nevertheless it soured my taste for Berlin. I'm New York City. I have never encountered any threats throughout mu four years of living there. Could it be that some attackers specifically pick out tourists?

I was in the Artemis again on 21-22-and 24 may after April and again had many pleasures. Firstly the outside area brought another nice scene to hang on.
