Thanks for the feedback regarding dance lessons in Medellin. I live in New Jersey, and not too many places near where I live to get dance lessons.

I just found this website of dance lessons in El Poblado and Embigado at http://www.santobaile.com/clases/.

It has some videos of the dancers with the clients. The teachers are great looking Paisa ladies. Who knows if those ladies are prepagos or nonpros. I am definitely making a visit there once I get there. The school has dance lessons such as Salsa, bachata, reggaeton, hip hop. Take a look at the website.

Regarding Salsa, do you live in or near a large US City? If so, then you are FAR better off learning Salsa in your hometown. Outside of Cali, Colombia doesn't have an especially great Salsa scene. Most of the Paisas prefer to listen (and dance) to Reggaeton, Hip Hop, etc. A few might have a very rudimentary grasp of Salsa.

Truth be told, outside of Cuba, Puerto Rico, Cali and a few other places, Latin America is not that great of a destination for Salsa.

I have been to a few good Salsa clubs in MDE (El Suave is my favorite), but a city of comparable size in the US will have more good clubs for dancing.

If you really want to do a dance/chica vacation, learn in the US, then take a trip to Cuba or Cali, Colombia. I have done that seveal times and can give you plenty of advice if you'd like.

In mid October 2014, I am going on my first mongering trip to Medellin. As I made my final preparation and research, I would appreciate if anyone could share some information. I am planning to stay for 9 days and alternate my stay in El Poblado, Envigado and Laureles / estadio area. I would like to do some casa visits and massage places and also would like to stay active and not to break my workout routine as I enjoy the Chica activities.

1. Girls at the mansion charge 150 k. The talent runs up and down, like other venues. I've seen it when it looked like a model catwalk, I've seen it when it looked like a low end casa lineup. All depends on their luck getting girls over.

2. This place has only two, middle-aged working girls. I've checked in a couple of times and they were the only two I ever saw there. I offered to buy their shitzu puppy, but that's about all I'd spend money on there.

1. Casa Blanca seems like a great option for new mongers like me visiting Medellin. I think I will try a day or two stay there.

Bello is in the far North of Medellin (not sure it's technically part of the City of MDE, might be a suburb). It's a pretty big neighborhood, certainly not upper Strata, but not as bad as the worst areas like San Javier either. Lots of working girls may very well be from Bello. I was there for 2.5 weeks, and while I was there, I went to Cali, Cartagena, Gutape and hacienda Napoles. 1) Which places to stay would you recommend? Was looking into Central Plaza Hotel, looks nice, seems good value for money, but a little far from where the action is. Any experience with Four Points by Sheraton, since I got a great offer there (but is it girl friendly if I book a double room? What are your recent experience with private places (via airbnb, etc.)?

1. Colombian diet is high in animal proteins and fats. Animal proteins and fats are good for you and do not cause abnormal blood lipids (excess carbohydrates do). The fats in the diet are also very satiating, meaning less food will be consumed.

2. Rice and beans form a complete protein. One could live exclusively on this diet and be healthy.

3. Typical Colombian walks 5-6 miles per day.
