I am sitting in San Jose right now and was here for New Years with Geolopes and 2 other friends. From my perspective, I will be back to Costa Rica, it will not be on Christmas / New Years. You are right about booking sooner rather than later in Jaco. We booked a 4 bedroom condo, 4-5 blocks from Cocal for $800 total, and we booked in August. Guys were trying to get down to Jaco and couldn't find much. One guy found the smallest room at Cocal and it was $150 per night, plus taxes, minimum 3 nights. However if you want to stay in San Jose, finding a room won't be a problem.

Report: So, I decided to get out and have some fun in the "ghost town" that a member that sits behind a computer bopping and it was great!
