Mermaid is still going strong. White Castle was raided last year but reopened the next day. There are a few smaller bars in downtown Lapu Lapu but probably not worth it. Also a few KTV's beyond Grand Gaisano mall. Nothing really out by Shangi-La in the form of gentlemen's clubs but I can suggest a few regular clubs/discos.

Frolic Bar is still open, I think. I was there in October or November last year. I did not take girl out, but they asked 1. 500 pesos for LT plus I think 600 ore 700 for the bar.

I know there is a KTV bar in SQ mall but I don't know what goes on in the VIP room as I never rented one.

Went to Viking and Planet X last week (I was in Red Lips before that which I mentioned in another report). The problem with these places is as soon as you sit down the oldest and ugliest girls come over right away to sit with you, then you have to find an excuse to get rid of them and after that no other girl will approach or even look at you! I mean you need a bit of time to look around and choose.

Anyway in Viking the mamasan eventually approached and I just could not see anyone I liked (some guy came and took the only one I thought was above average), so after a bit if chit chat I asked how much was the bar fine and she looked at me horrified and said we don't have bar fine what is bar fine. LOL. My SML was 75 p.

Planet X is bigger and they get 4 or 5 girls to dance on the stage at the same time, which is in the middle, a lot better arrangement. Some better looking girls in there, again once I said let me first have a look around, could not get the attention of anyone after that. My SML was 60 p and they said 200 for lady drink. I mean this is just such a skewed pricing, I guess they want to get punters in, in both places no more than 10 or so guys, rather empty..

Personally I would sit at the bar and start a conversation with one of the expat guys and ask him what's the deal with the Filipinas if you're not sure. IMO do not mention barfines! Just ask if the staff can be dated / taken out of the bar. Local PNP have been targeting bars where the staff agrees to be barfined. Some NGO's are using foreigners to enter bars with hidden cameras to trick GRO's and bar staff into discussing barfines and any promised sexual escapades.

Took you advice, and asked some people I know from other bars, his advice was he has not been able to get a take away from there, he is an expat. Sure there are lady drinks but that buys some company for a while. On the plus side a busy bar with live band and nice atmosphere, can't say I saw any FL a place to visit with a bring your own.

In Patong for example you get 180 be for your drink and 200 be for lady drink, now that is expensive but psychologically you don't think twice buying a lady drink, as you say I am already paying a lot for my drinks, what is another one (almost the same). It is a lot cheaper here of course (pesos vs baht), but it is funny how you compare your drink price and lady drink and are put off!

There are quite a few more bars around there and I will probably pop in and have a beer and have a look at some point, for now stick to FL.

By the way I was in Tagbilaran city (and Paglao, Alona beach etc.) for a few days, there are a couple of lady bars there (in the city), just ask around, again 50 p for your drink and 250 p or 300 p for lady drink! Strange pricing? Bar fine around 2500 p to 3000 p. Ask around everyone knows where they are.

I was also propositioned on Alona beach a couple of times, very hardcore pro type, one said you can come to my place near here right now and do me for 1500, this was 11 am, I said I am on my way to an island, she said take me with you and we can do it on the beach!

Off to MO2 area tonight, tired of Mango scene a bit, so see what is like over there, one girl told me there are some FL hang around there too.

Hello Sportsfans, where can I watch the Green Bay-Chicago game airing at 10 AM on Monday on Armed Forces Network (AFN)?

Silver Dollar doesn't open until 1 PM and the game will be over then. Much obliged for any replies.

There is a sports bar on Ramos near Fuente called Time Out. Owned by an American, he has NFL game cast and large screen televisions. Not a bar fine bar, but a great place to watch American Football. You can watch any NFL game. He opens in the morning.

Marshalls (Mango Square area) doesn't open until noon. When I asked last night, a presumably Irish patron also said that even if they were open it would be blasphemous for them for play American football on the TV in an Irish pub, LOL.

Good point. I wonder if it also offers all day breakfast (Irish pun sort of!) as that really annoys me when I think breakfast is 6/7 am and they think 11 am but then again many pinays (including those I see) find it hard to wake before noon.
