After some recent discussion about Bintang Mawar I decided to go there. A rather dark place which plays lots of Chinese songs which reminded me of CP in Southern China. Of course after around 7 pm they go more loud and upbeat semi techno. I met a fellow American who has been working continuously in Jakartar for at least the last 6 plus years. It sounds like you are asking about P4P venues or freelancers, not just venues with freelancers.
