Checking the map, I see that Ave. Espana is a very long street. Where is the intersection of these bars / clubs that you mean?
Can anyone give me some feedback about what kind of street Avenida Venezuela is, ie regular nighclubs or chica bars, or both? This would be much appreciated!

However, everyone here who posts is a "volunteer" and nearly all posts are "unsolicited". It is rare that someone specifically invites us to comment on his post. The very fact of posting is an implied invitation to comment.
We cannot let all posts stand without comments or (in a few cases) challenges. It is the to-and-fro of different opinions that filters the info to a consensus most useful for newbies.
This is not a pissing up the wall contest to show who is more macho or streetwise or error-proof. Just in case you think it is, let me say that you have me beat from the start. In my early weeks here I made such a monument fuck-up that if one hundred of our posters overpaid for chicas, taxis, and meals for the rest of their lives, the total would not equal the results of my misjudgment. Does that make you feel better?
You wrote that "you posted to provide other members with accurate information that helps them to set expectations right before going to Santo Domingo". You did that splendidly, and the conclusion most will draw is, "Do not go to Santo Domingo. You can get better value elsewhere". Of course this does not apply to those with connections in the city who really know their way around.
Keep on with your interesting and fact-filled posts.

Posts: 484I need to find that street again !
Hey guys, I am very happy to be coming back to Santo Domingo next week for the first time since spring 2014 ! When there last time, coming back by taxi from the Mega centro in Santo Domingo Este to Ave Independencia, I remember seeing this really lively looking side street full of chick bars, just before the bridge coming back across the river. I am determined to find this street again! There are several bridges between west and east SD obviously, but whenever I took a cab going to the mega centro they went over the same bridge beside boat yards and some big Industry / water storage facility, then just up a hill, before the main Avenida, that is where the this street I want to find was! Sorry for being so vague, but if anyone understands where I'm talking about, please tell me the name of the street I'm looking for.
I was thinking this could be Avenida Venezuela, but this is further north on the map! What are the clubs like there, are there chica clubs there or are they more regular nightclubs? I am looking for clubs full of curvy natural ladies, all tits and ass, not for me pretentious piano bars with skinny barbie girls just back from their latest plastic surgery! What do you think, is Avenida Venezuela the street for me or not?
Any advice would be much appreciated guys to help me get the best out of my trip. I will of course repay the favor and let you know how it all went!

Posts: 41Calle El Conde and av. Pasteur
Today I walked Calle El Conde back and forth before and after dark. Nothing special except for ugly "massage" girls. Zona Colonial overall is a nice place to live, walk and eat but no much visible mongering action (at least what I observed after 3 hours of walking). I saw some cute young ladies with twice older gentlemen so I guess this part of the city is perfect for longer term relations. Then I checked a few "casas" on Av. Pasteur and one on Malecon. Oasis. Oasis girls were the best and there were like 12 of them lined up just for me. I haven't noticed any other clients. Many of the girls were 7-8 and because they were wearing bikini, assessing the talents was easier. The manager told me the ladies cost $100 per 1 hour in or out. Doesn't matter.
I then went to 305 - the selection was much smaller 3 girls were 4-5 ish and one was 7 ish. The price tag was 4000 peso per hour. Next was "21" which is simply a club at Av. Pasteur 21. There were around 15 ladies there but also quite a number of clients. A couple of ladies there wherewith my acceptance range and the price was the same as before. Yet, I wanted to check Satin Ladies next door where 8 or so girls lined up for me there. I noticed one 20 year old good looking girl, face and body around 7- not a stunning beauty but something clicked in me: maybe because she was shy and looked like it was her first day in the business, or maybe because she was almost white skinned. A rarity in DR. I don't know. I picked her up, brought to my hotel room and had a pretty good time. As I expected, she joined the business recently and hasn't hardened yet. Most of the girls I had recently were pros so the change was for good this time. She cost me $100 for two hours. Now, Charles Pooter will tell me that for this price I can fuck two girls in Sosua. OK, maybe, but don't shoot the messenger. I am in Santo Domingo and just reporting what I see here.

Next trip, come to Sosua and hook up with some experienced mongers so you do not get ripped off like that.

Posts: 41Merengue bar in Jaragua yesterday
Went to Merengue bar yesterday. Before the show, I counted more bartenders then actual visitors. I ordered a drink (and was surprised that the bartenders are practicing not returning change, also overall service at the bar was very mediocre). Once the live show started (at 11 pm) the place quickly filled up with people. It was refreshing to finally be among well dressed people in a decent, clean and secure place after 3 days in DR. I guess you know what I mean. As of the ladies. I saw not too many available for the entire night. Overall, maybe 5 or so. I spotted one I liked the most and after an hour or so, I asked the bartender (who seems the only one who understand English) to pass a good drink to the lady of my choice. Once she got a drink, she smiled at me and I waved her back with cheers inviting to come next to me. She did not hesitate to join. She knows barely a few words in English and I know the same in Spanish. Nevertheless, we quickly started touching each other and went to dance Salsa. (To say accurately, she was dancing Salsa and I was desperately trying to imitated what other males were doing. Still, my moves were jerky and I feel too grino-ish.) The rest was quite straightforward. She asked me $100 which was quite steep but considering nice place, etc. I agreed. It turned out that she knew everyone there. From bartenders to taxi drivers. We get taxi to my Hotel SF de Asis and had a pretty good sex. The couple problems though: she asked a few more tips here and there. Most of the time I rejected but still ended up paying maybe $20 more. And of course, as the case with most women, once they undress, their bodies reveal a lot of imperfections. She looked 7-8 in the bar but only 5-6 in the bed. Well, this is the game we play on both sides of the trade so I view it as my learning experience. I am staying two more days in SD before going back to the "sex prison".

Has anyone stayed at Napolitano? What is the guest policy, if so? Thanks for any replies.
