In countries like Colombia, WGs are monitored by health agencies, test regularly for everything, and have to attend classes where they are instructed on how to prevent STIs. If you come here to Colombia, worry much more about some girl you meet in a bar than a WG.

Yes foreign countries are not shit holes, but I was picturing in my mind the child being brought up by poor single mother who could not adequately provide for them, especially once their prime earning years were over. If one does the right thing and takes respectability for supporting their children and provides both financial and parental support, I have no issue with it. Since I do not intend to do that, getting cut was for me the ethical way to go.

Anyone ever get a part time girlfriend pregnant in Colombia? I got one girl pregnant in DR and daughter is now 7. Never had problem with mother. Once I had test run to make sure baby was mine, I send money monthly which is minimal and visit a few times per year.

But now if true I got this girl pregnant in Colombia. So I am heading there next month to get things checked out. It wasn't an accident I just am wandering if they have more stringent laws. Hopefully I can just work it out with girl, once baby is confirmed mine. I don't have problem with money I just want to keep it a fair amount.

Anyone that's been in this situation any help would be appreciated.

I have a six year old daughter in Colombia, I take care of her financially, I pay for her to go to private school and such. Keep in mind that your children are automatically USA Citizens and if they are minors still when you hit 62 years old and go on S. S. You can claim them as dependents, you will receive 62% more per month until they reach at least 18 years old. You can also claim them on your tax return as dependents. You must get them a S. S. Number for this of course. If you need any info let me know. By the time my daughter has reached 18 she will have made me over $125 K,nice.

Perhaps it is just my stubborn streak of middle class morality, but I do not want the responsibility for a child being brought up fatherless in some shit hole. Now I have been traveling and banging the locals for almost 30 years now. For all I know there is a blue eyes mini-me somewhere but I hope not. When I reached my mid-forties and was sure I wanted no more kids of my own, went to the doc and had them make it a medical impossibility. As Forest would say, 'one less thing to worry about'.

You give a lot of great advice. I always understand being careful. But I am not going to be paranoid.
