Psst, I let you in the big secret. You can get the coconut cheaper if you buy one that's not chilled. It will be even cheaper if you buy one directly from the coconut-truck which pass the orla in the morning around 6 AM. You can even get the coconut for free if you climb the palm tree yourself.
I've more or less stopped buying fresh coconut water from kiosks or vendors. It's much faster and just about as fresh at the many Hortifrutis (fruit & veg grocery stores) around Copacabana.

Most make it themselves in the back, filling 500 ML and 1 L bottles directly from the green coconuts. At my local it's BRL 9. 99 for 1 L. Plus I don't have to stand and wait for the moronic vendor to fill the bottles, wait while he tries to find change, or wait while he attends a more impatient old lady who comes up while he's filling 3 bottles for me.

Now I just pop into the hortifruiti, grab one from the case, and then pray there is nobody in line. If there is a line, I end up waiting just like the vendor. Big hortifruti, 5 cashier's desks, 1 cashier working. Who has no change. People in the line are making change for each other so they attendant will actually take care of more than 1 person every 5 minutes. Ah, Brasil.

Anyway, to me, I see about 95% of the taste of a perfectly fresh coconut water for about 50% of the hassle.....in other words, worth it.

I paid up 220 reals in total after the deed.

I called the VivaLocal escort late last night to arrange some Sunday afternoon delight. She arrived on time
and again everything very relaxed and was excited about the university exam she had just had. The sex was
long and sweaty. She got abit pissed as I did not want to take her out for dinner tonight. There is only so much.
I can use google translate before it gets annoying LOL.

I presented her with some swiss chocolates that were on offer in the UK. Her face lit up! +150 reals for 3 hours of her
    company.

This is the problem with freelancers-there is no manager of a terma to complain to, no one to hold responsible.

If that was agreed and she then re-negged, that's a discount right there. 200!kkk.

As Fuckafmeddig said watching tv is the most important part. It's the best way to learn to understand spoken language if you don't have somebody speaking to you personally. You can also listen to music and using app like Musixmatch you get the lyrics for the songs.

Some girls I understand almost perfectly and the others not so well. I'm constantly trying to improve my Portuguese to get most out of my trips to Brazil. When you can make the girl laugh in Portuguese, you have come a long way to the right direction. As one can read between the lines in many posts, when relating with pros or non-pros the fun factor is never to be underestimated.

P.S. Here you can see some Brazilian tv channels http://aovivonatv.com/online/
    True!

If you CAN'T make a brazilian girl laugh you in trouble.

If you can and she's into you= sexo automatico- 1st date or 2nd date latest. I've had both.

I saw that firsthand walking along Avenida Atlntica in Copacabana. The guy was up the tree knocking the coconuts down onto of his sack below. Unfortunately, one hit a coconut in the bag just right and was propel out into the street. He slid down the tree like it was a fireman's pole and scurried out into the street to retrieve the errant coconut impervious to oncoming traffic. Reminded me of that squirrel chasing the nut in the movie Ice Age. Sometimes the best entertainment is free.

I plan to be here for 8-10 weeks, but plan to study portuguese at my local university here in the USA for 4-5 months before hand. Also, there are some bi-weekly Portuguese meet up groups I plan to attend as well. Could you give me some advice as to how I should approach studying portuguese.

I'd like to try the pro side, but also get some non-pro action.
For the pro side not much is needed if you are dealing with termas.

Obviously you won't get to know them in any depth due to lack of porto.

The upmarket spots have girls who speak a bit of english.

I would say it took me 8 months before I started having major success with non-pros off Brazil cupid where I've met basically all my non-pros bar a few.

I had one-to-one lessons in portugues on skype-more intense but I also went there every 3 months for 3 weeks and spoke as much as possible so I could learn the real speed / lingo as much as possible.

For me to have like girlfriends in normal manner took over a year of speaking ID say.

It is critical in Brazil to speak.

ID say 90% of the girls I've been with-even turning gdps in termas into mini girlfriends would never have been possible without portugues.

None of the girls I met on cupid spoke english.

I've been hit by maybe 7-800 on there. None spoke really.

Dive in and emmerse yourself for the best cultural experience. I know dudes who still get gringoed somewhat on 5th visit + because they never bothered to learn. You just limit your opportunities to opportunists who flock to the tourist mouse-traps like MC, Centaurus etc.

All the girls want to be around for carnival to make $.

Bear in mind school / uni / work starts again after carnival so girls are suddenly tied up weekdays daytime or night time some times (study hours in Brazil are many times either day OR night.

My favorite time is April to end of June and September to end of November-purely climatic as 45 + degrees kills me. I did Rio once mid Jan. Never again. And this time in February from 23rd was pretty bad too-climate wise.

By all means learn. Price at MC last month was like 330 for girl for an hour,100 entry,110 for room. Its a costly place. 4 x 4 is a little less.

I personally can't go to those spots anymore as cheaper and better options are available quite easily as is the non-pro game (requires portuguese) -I didn't succeed with Brazilian non-pros untill I spoke portuguese.

Took a couple years in earnest. It also helps with GDPS in termas in terms of building a better vibe with them where they can be themselves a bit better with you.

    Rio on Friday Night

    Hi,

I am thinking of heading to MABS on Friday night to see what its all about Sort of breaking my MABS virginity so too speak, but not sure if sex will be involved LOL.

I have read all the posts and various snippets so you never know I might bump into a few of you there. Do we have ISG badgers to wear?

Have come across various wikis but some seem to be out of date.

Going to be in Rio next month & want to plan my itinerary, definitely hoping to get a dupla on the go in either or both.

Am also interested in the likes of Eden Spa & http://viptherapy.com.br/ which have their prices listed upfront on their sites.

Also will I be in trouble at the likes of the aforementioned if I don't speak any Portuguese?
