What are chica-friendly hotels in that area because my hotel of choice seems to have upped their rates about 90% (almost doubled) for next Feb? Thanks.

BTW- I'm not looking for $100/ night hotels, more like half that, more or less.

Sorry, but if you are on the street at 2 am, cops are not even going to be your biggest problem. Nothing good happens after midnight, this applies to every single town on the planet.

I realize that you can be stopped at any time, but after midnight it's dangerous, between cops and criminals.

    Stopped by cops

I did my first visit to Medellin last Oct and was stopped while walking up calle 10 to Art Hotel where I was staying about three in the afternoon. I'm a black guy that was dress in blue jeans, sketchers shoes and a button down shirtsleeve shirt. He asked for my passport which I didn't have but I did take a picture of my passport that I had on my phone. He looked it over and asked where I was staying and why I was in Medellin and I told him in my broken Spanish that I was on vacation and attending the Tucan Spanish school. He said have a good day and I continued on my way. I didn't feel offended. I just thought they were doing there job. I did see several people getting frisked around Parque Lleras during the night with hands behind their backs and legs spread type of frisk.

    Lakeside.

    Another perspective

Outside of the street walkers outside the liquor store in front of parque lleras, I did not see any obvious hookers walking around. I had no interest in visiting more casas, or strip clubs, and did not do the FB thing before going.

However, there's a very healthy non-pro scene (and I'm calling this non-pro because none of these women asked for money):

In El Poblado between Thursday and Saturday night I met numerous women (and men) and exchanged numbers with them. Most places will close on Sunday or Monday (or on both of these days). On a Saturday night I bar hopped and got two waitresses to give me their numbers, and I hung out with one of them Sunday which was her day off (no sex but we did dance and have drinks). The one I hung out with actually offered her number and in a weird way demanded we hang out. She was cool though. Some of these women, especially the younger ones (early 20's) are genuinely curious about extrajenors. They have boyfriends but want to sneak away on a Sunday and hang out with a foreigner to see what it's like. They'll even take photos with you to show your friends (and encourage you to bring them!) but ask you not to post the photos anywhere.

Most local men, once they get to know you, will try to hook you up with their friends or relatives if you behave like a caballero. At first I thought it was pimping but then I asked this bouncer if it's normal for him to show photos of his cousin to single men he said he's just match making. It dawned on me that drinking, dancing, and going to clubs on the weekend is perfectly normal behavior in Colombia and you're not seen as irresponsible for engaging in it. Also the men are keenly aware if you show up alone to a club, that you're looking for a girl to hang out with, haha.

All this goes with having an adequate knowledge of Spanish. I really doubt you'll get far if your Spanish isn't at a conversational level. Personally, I can mostly only speak Spanish in the present tense, but it was enough, hahaha.

Some of the downsides of El Poblado are the cops, who frisked me numerous times but I wouldn't give them a multa. A dealer later gave me props for not paying off the cops. I don't consume myself but he noticed how I stood up for myself. I really doubt the cops will ever harm a tourist if you're not doing anything wrong. They will stop and frisk you if they think you will fork over cash. Again, I was alone the entire week so I was an easy target to stop and frisk. It's this seedy underside in El Poblado that turned me off. While I get a kick out of the street vendors and always try to buy a little something each night, I found some of the touts to be super annoying. And finally, the hostels and backpackers can be annoying. Too many hostels near Parque LLeras if you ask me.

I don't claim to have a non-pro girlfriend down there, but certainly if I had spent more time in El Poblado, and put in more effort, it would have been entirely possible. I already got plenty of messages on WhatsApp asking me when I'll be back, but the biggest hurdle will be visiting regularly. All the non-pros I met would ask me numerous times when I would be back, and each time I'd say "a couple of months" they'd get a thoughtful look in their eyes like they were calculating whether it was worth being with someone they won't get to see very often.

And finally, before I went to Cartagena I let the ladies I met know that through WhatsApp. I'm pretty sure half of them told me they never saw the sea before. Which actually made me reflect for a moment.

From my experience with Colombianas, and especially the girls from Medellin, sometimes there is a different motive. Which is just to be taken out and shown a good time, dinner, drinks, dancing, at a gringos expense. This is all part of the game. They figure if you're a "nice guy", there's no way you'll expect to get laid on the first date. And hey, they're "good girls" so you wouldn't expect that, right? First couple of dates is just to get to know each other. At your expense. Sometimes the investment pays off eventually, sometimes not.

I have seen a few gringos in Hooters in Park Lleras that I wished the police would just haul away to jail and give them an attitude adjustment session. Those managers have more patience than I have ever had.

Here was post from Advantageous, in my trip report I said I paid 150 k plus taxi for all the girls I was with.

"No fucking joke, I was looking at the same shit bewildered. Between this guy, Thedman, and Mr. "if you have enough confidence prostitutes will take your money for sex", I'm realizing that the outpouring of cats that jacked the pussy prices in the CR and DR are making their way to MDE. Coming unexpectedly next weekend because of Castro's death fucking up my Havana trip, but I think I'll make my base La 70 this go-around. And maybe start falling back to Bogotá or Cali in the future. For FB girls to come to you, 150 k seemed the going rate on average. I saw this over many posts.

That's what I offered and felt for what I received, an 8+ to my place on request plus a great GFE, it was appropriate.

I guess there will always those haters who are always going to hate. Maybe $10 either way is life or death for them. Too bad for them.

Go through the reports. People will drop names. Search for them on FB. Add them as friends. Go through their friends list or see who comments on their pictures if their list is blocked. Add more friends. Keep repeating. Soon you will have a whole network of chicas!

What are you searching for on Facebook? What are the search words you are using?

    Headed to Medellin

    Hey guys,

New to the board, I'm a month or so away from leaving it all and heading down to Medellin. As far as the prepagos are concerned, I was trying to get an idea of what the ladies looked like and what they charge. Mostly I troll the bigger escort pages, I. E. Escorts Fantasia etc. So my question is, Are these girls real? What should I be looking out for? This looks almost too good to be true, and you know what they say about that. I'm not worried about the prices, I'm worried about accuracy of the pictures and the performance. Also, What in your opinion is the best way to find the best looking prepagos?

Thanks in advance fellas, hope to see you all once I hit ground.

A few nights ago, I went on and saw a "video" (not sure what you call those moving picture things, but it's not really a video) that I supposedly posted of a girl sucking a guy off. All I've done since getting on FB is text with a few girls in a respectful manner. I wasn't sure what to do, so I just ignored it. Last night, I saw my account was disabled for violating FB community standards. I can only assume this is because of the video. I did also find an email from FB from 5 days ago saying they saw activity from an unreconized device (it's not an email I use often).

I tried to submit an "appeal" that you can find on their website, but you need to upload ID. I used a pseudonym for this, so that doesn't work. Anyone else ever have a similar issue and have a solution? If not, I guess I'll just have to start from scratch again.
Your account got hacked? That' why you got the email about an unrecognized device.

Use a better password next time?
