There's a welfare system in place in Colombia. Depending on where you live you get a monthly check from the government. This was explained to me by some friends in Colombia who are well off. Not sure about the details of it, but I doubt these hookers are starving; however the Venezuelans probably are starving. My previous sugar baby's boyfriend told me she routinely hits up her customers for money and buys shit for him like a new cell phone. He even thought it was kinda fucked up the way she would lie to people. Now that takes effort.

Isla Baru and Playa Blanca have become filled with vendors now from what I've heard. If you want peace and quiet, try the beaches at Castillogrande. There are vendors there too but not nearly as many as the beaches in Bocagrande.

You mean Playa Hollywood? I haven't actually gone to Laguito yet but plan to on my upcoming visit.

Given the dynamics of the relationship with a working girl, that's pretty common. In my years of mongering in Latin America I've only met one provider who didn't ask for cash when I was away. You should set limits you are comfortable with early on and always explain them as a positive. So if you will not send her money when you are away, simply tell her you will visit often and help her when you're with her, but you won't be sending any money. Trust me, if she gets mad and stops talking to you it's a good thing because that's bunny boiler behavior. Chances are you'll see her again if you got to the same mongering spot anyway.

My most recent "wife" experience ended up with her buying some really tacky necklaces with "I love. " and our names on each. It turned me off so much I don't talk to her anymore. I don't want a hooker girlfriend. I want a mistress.

I must disagree strongly with you here. In my experience, it's almost always downgradable to 150 K, especially now with the influx of desperate chicas from Venezuela. Totally true, although I am more used to that from my girlfriends from Indonesia, rather than those from Colombia.

Maybe I chose my girlfriends better than YK <grin> , but I remember only a couple of cases of Colombian girls who asked me to send them some money via WU. Of course, I sent only to one ($100) and I denied all other requests.

I entertained conversation via WhatsApp with many of them for a long time, and even now I am writing to four, and I sent Merry Christmas to maybe ten. None of them had the courage to ask me to send money. Overall, I met a lot of nice girls, hidden in a crowd of sharks.

Actually they charge 25,000 pesos for the first checked bag, 45,000 if you check a second bag. You might not have noticed it because it's only like 8 dollars. This is a copy of one of the tickets I just bought.

So it looks like my Cartagena dates fall on the Barranquilla Carnival dates. Is this bad for mongering in Cartagena? I'm wondering if all of the chicas will be attending the carnival events instead? Should I be trying to find a place in Barranquilla? I haven't seen any discussions on this topic before, any info would be great.

I doubt it will impact your trip too much. I went to Barranquilla for carnival in 2011. I had heard from several sources it was amazing and was arguably the 2nd,3rd, or 4th best carnival / Mardi gras depending on how much you liked Curacao or New Orleans. I was not impressed with the city, the beaches and definitely carnival was not what I imagined. In 2016 I finally made it to carnival in Rio and it is everything you think it might be. The difference between Rio and New Orleans was the same as major league baseball player and maybe a guy from single A ball. Barranquilla that was like high school ball. Go to Rio for carnival sometime!

As for flights, I have also used vivacolombia booking both here in the states and last minute tickets from Medellin to Cartagena and never had a problem. I've never used them on their Fort Lauderdale to Colombia flights but their intra country ones have been fine.

I don't think so. Girls go to work to CTG not because they like to fuck handsome (really?) strangers, but because they are in deep shit and need money for their families or babies. I don't think such a girl would opt for partying the Carnival instead.
