I cannot claim I know a lot as I don't live in Prague (I. E. Only visit there few times a year), but I think you are right. Privats would be difficult to host 20 men. I have to disagree fully with the above. I life more than 10 years in CZ. In this time I used taxis very often, in the beginning nearly on a daily basis. In all these years I was cheated 3 times by a taxi driver (each time a random pick up. Which I agree, should be avoided).

The bad reputation of the taxis is highly exaggerated and is based on the old times more than 10 years ago. I found AAA taxi the most reliable company which never let me down. A lot of their taxis are modern and the drivers speak English. By phoning them to order a taxi, they send you an sms with the approx price quote, which makes it very difficult for a driver to cheat you. In case of a cheating driver, phone the police before paying, quoting his name and license number. This will work wonders and the driver will most likely accept only reasonable fare to, get rid of you quickly.

I agree. While there are certainly still black sheep in the business. It is anecdotal. I never had a problem with a driver when I called one in over the central (AAA or others)- they run a pretty tight ship.

I need to chip in on the Taxi as well, with many weeks working in Prague over the years.

There is nothing good about AAA taxi and everyone I talked to in Prague say they are the biggest rip off and should be avoided. Of my trips with them it has been a hit-and-miss if they try to get foreigner price or local.

You noted AAA taxi, which can be fine, but this really depends who will arrive.
