Greetings mongers,
I'm currently in Medellin on my second trip. The first was a 'dip my toes in the water' experience where I visited La Isla, Loutron, new life and fade dos. Standard stuff I know. Last February '16 as follows.
-La isla.
First cab off the rank. We were heading to loutron but being fresh off the boat we didn't know it closed early. The cabbie kindly took us to La isla. Definitely an American style strip joint. Don't get me wrong, some solid 9's here but I wouldn't come all the way to Colombia for that. Place was pretty empty as we were there early. My wingman took a sweety off to the adjoining motel for around 180.00 cop plus hotel. I restrained myself on this occasion due to being paranoid from watching too much tv and only having enough cash for a ride at Loutron on my person and my buddies Amex which la isla don't accept. We pooled our cash and only had enough for one ride and being the gentleman I am I insisted he do the do.
Nice place and very high end but I'm sure there's more to Medellin than this.
-Loutron.
Reminded me of the house from thunderbirds. Cool place and it's worth venturing up there just to check it out. The door lady spun some crap about the house once being owned by Pablo himself, interesting marketing angle.
Around ten girls paraded before our salivating gringo eyes, I chose a nice natural looking called Kenya. My buddy went for a slender blond with a tidy back yard. My service was good, she was a lot more enthusiastic than I imaged. Floppy tits but she rocked the boat nicely. My wing left with his tail between his legs after not being 'up' to a performance. I laughed at him all the way down the mountain.
-Face dos.
We went on a Saturday and the place was jammed, mostly locals. Waiter was rude and overcharged us in the end but meh, gringo tax in full effect. Besides the dancers there's a bunch of freelancers lurking about, a lot of variety and some I would never believe we're 18. I fell in love with a stripper and immediately yanked her to the side after her show, killer ass, perfect bolt one-- shitty attitude. This should have been enough for me to stop there and then but we all know who makes the decision in these cases.
Paid around 170.00 from memory plus room. Once inside the room the Chica proceeded to roll a king size dooby, smoke it and make a phone call. She was then so paranoid about touching anything of mine so made the whole thing robotic. She also wouldn't let me touch her boobs as they were brand new. She was smoking hot but the situation certainly wasn't a turn on. Karma being what it is I failed to perform, she then hassled me for a tip. I threw 10000 cop at her to avoid dramas and walked out with my fathers advice from my childhood ringing in my ear ' a good looking woman is like a hot car, more trouble than they're worth'.
Energy.
- I went twice for around 150.00 cop for the hour. 6-8's in the line up. Average mechanical service. Nice enough place and some pretty but worn out looking young girls but I wouldn't go back.
Since arriving last week I immediately went to energy. Nice girl called Adrianna? Huge bolt ONS fake ass and pretty face. She said she was 25. It was 150.00 cop and interestingly the house lady took the cash first this time, explaining it was new policy. Again I wouldn't go back but never say never.
This time I was longing for something a little raw.
I checked out the daytime scene behind plaza botero. Grabbed and beer and took a lean against a wall across from where the majority of the action was. I was surprised to some nice looking SW's lurking outside the love hotels. If your into tattoos and piercings these girls would ring your bell. One girl with daisy Dukes was standing out front of a hotel with pink headphones and a lollipop dancing away in her own little world. My guess was she was 14 max. When I grow a pair I'll be back maybe at night as I did spot a few bangables with a wildcat look in their eyes. Wild scene but if you're undressed and aren't rocking your liborachie jewelery collection it seems doable.
I did a walk around to locate some of the centro casas, upon going past new life I saw two nice looking young girls coming out, mental note to return.
Since I have more time here I plan to investigate more of the scene further than what I experienced last year. My Spanish is OK but as soon as I open my mouth its gringo alert in full effect. I've found being polite yet firm worked while casing out the 'forbidden zones'. Thanks to the seasoned posters here I've taken much advice from the forum, I plan to use this and be cautious yet not overly cautious and delve further into the Medellin scene. Any advice from the Medellin veterans would be appreciated and hopefully this offers some help for the first timers. Gracias.

That's why Jake got thrown in the slammer. It's too much. It would be the same as telling Colombian immigration you're there to fuck hookers. I'm pretty sure even though its legal they would turn you around, haha.

Look at the prices at a place like Loutron and La Isla (or whatever their name is now). It's not gringos frequenting those places in high numbers.
Who do you think are the guys calling 350k high-end escorts? Half of the gringos going to Medellin can't even order a pizza by phone in spanish, let alone an escort!

As for the comments, try not to give too much credence to those hypocrites. Remember, we could not monger there if there were not an sex industry infrastructure already put in place by the locals. As another member here said, we are a tiny fraction of people who partake. The other 99.99 percent are the local Colombianos.

I actually found your post on a typical convo with a girl in Spanish a couple pages back that I can apply. And surprisingly I do understand most of it just by teaching myself around the internet. At least in written form don't know how I would fare with a fast talker.
Got to learn the numbers now and couple phrases to deal with Cap drivers and I should good for basics. BTW, is english almost non-existed amongst the cap drivers and the locals? I do hope after couple of days I find a honest translator amongst locals or girls that show me around even for rent.
A Colombian girl I found on Tinder actually told me her friend is a guide and speaks Englishl, so might give that a shot.
Here is the amazing and hilarious post by you:Originally Posted by JjBee62 [View Original Post]Originally Posted by YippieKayay [View Original Post]

Or.
Visit a bookstore (or go online) and pick up a basic Spanish language course with CDS (much cheaper than the better Pimsleur courses). Use the books along with the CDS. That's important, because you need to make the connection between Spanish spelling and pronunciation. Otherwise you'll be baffled when trying to translate "ah ee", which is spelled "hay. ".
Learn basic greetings. Learn how to ask if someone speaks English. Learn the numbers. Learn a few basic verbs, how to conjugate them and basic sentence structure. Just a few weeks, a few hours per day will pay off.
While you're picking up some Spanish, start reading up on Medellin. I combine reading with Google Maps. When a hotel, restaurant, club or casa is mentioned, I find it and check out Street View. I want to know what the area looks like. If it looks rough during the day, I'm not going at night, or I'm doing a taxi door to door.
Figure out a few go to places. Places you would like to visit while you're there. Maybe Energy, Fase 2, or some other places. I'd recommend picking a few places close to each other and not in the heart of El Centro.
Read up on that neighborhood and find a hotel that's fairly convenient. This will help minimize your taxi rides. While you're at it, check the hotel area for restaurants. Now you should be prepared.
As to your concerns about security, whether or not you speak Spanish won't have much of an effect. Where you go and how you carry yourself will. If you're taking pictures of everything with your diamond encrusted, gold plated iPhone, expect to be robbed. If you're walking around with a wallet full of pesos, expect to be robbed. If you're walking around drunk, expect to be robbed.
However, if you follow all the good advice on the forum, you should be fine. Just be aware of scam artists on the street.
Hotel staff is generally friendly and patient and there is usually someone on staff who speaks some English. If you can speak some Spanish it will help immensely. "Disclpeme seor. Hay un gato muerto en mi cama. " Which means, you probably should have picked a better hotel.
Some restaurants have a menu in English. Just ask "tiene una carta en Ingles?" Or you can just use translate to figure out the regular menu.
Cab drivers will try to overcharge you. Read the forum, find out the typical fares. Before you get in, ask how much. "Cuanto cuesta?" If you have the name and address written down, it will help. If you think they are asking too much, tell them a lower price. If they are giving a price in dolares, they're ripping you off. Counter in pesos.
Finally, before you go, start thinking in pesos. 300,000 pesos is about $100 at the current exchange rate. 10,000 is $3. 33 (that's the posted rate, your actual rate will vary). You don't need to be exact, just have a solid idea. If a cab driver says "diez dolares", come back with "quince mil pesos. ".
If you know the typical rates, you don't have to worry too much. If someone is asking too much, respond with what you're willing to pay, or ask "por toda la noche?
I wouldn't suggest trying an all nighter with an unknown. You may have just bought a dead fish. On the other hand, if she rocks your world, ask how much to stay the night. The price should be 2. 5 to 3 times the 1 hour price. You can afford to bargain a little. If it's already late, she's not making any more money if she leaves.
It can be challenging without knowing Spanish, but if you keep a positive attitude, be patient and do your homework, you should be fine.

Be sure to read the comments below the article, many are tired of gringos in Colombia for sex.
In other news, back in November Cuba Dave got 5 years prison sentence in Costa Rica.

I did survived my solo visit without any Spanish skills. Google translator and WTs Casa Map are the only 2 tools you need for this expedition.
Stay is a safe neighborhood and visit casas rather than opting for street workers. If you can spare some time in tinder and facebook you can request for over night prices.
Over night prices very from girl to girl (prepago vs regular casa girl etc).

A lot of useful info here.
I would love to visit Medellin but I'm a bit apprehensive about making solo trip to Colombia as non-Spanish speaker. I wonder what are the chances of succeeding with both women, cap drivers and hotel staff with no Spanish? And how is the safety for a non Spanish speaker?
I have no problem using Google translate if they have the patience and learning a bit Spanish on the way. But I would imagine everyone would try to rip me off and overcharge me from the hookers to cap drivers or am I worrying too much? I have made great solo trips to Dubai and Africa earlier so its not totally new to me but English is spoken by the majority in those areas. Also I see the going prices are 120 k for Street workers to 150-200 k per hour for top girls in the strip clubs etc. Rights. How about top girls overnight?
Are there reputable any guides from here that can help with setting up everything from the airport to girls?
