I decided to go there for a week in December.

I would not pay any agency anything in advance. I think more like dishonest company. I have travelled thru Asia and I have always booked by myself and found girls either in bars or on the net. I used the agency. You can read my report on it from a while back. They are trustworthy. I didn't pay anything in advance. Contact the person in charge through emails, because I don't think they take anything in advance.

Anyone living here and for those that will be here for another few weeks might want to consider going out to get your favorite drinks for your condo or guest house before midnight. I just went to my go-to place for Whiskey and wine, and they told me about the rate increase effective tomorrow. Tax rate will be 430 baht per litre. It's not going to break the bank, but for guys here for long terms, you can save some money.

1. IllusionHeart and PipeLayer both make reasonable comments. Little to disagree with. I will just comment that the more experience you gain, the better you are at making decisions. 2. To McFuck, I will be there during the cremation of the King on or about Oct 13. I expect the bars to be closed for that weekend, but expect the soapies, places like Kinneree (spelling) and DD, etc to be open. I also expect there will be BR freelancers out. And of course the apps will have girls available. Most all have family back home that need money, and while they will again morn His Majesty's passing, they have to eat and pay bills. I have already made arrangements with a gogo girl I have seen several times before to spend some time with, as well as meeting a normal working girl (I think) on Thai Cupid who works near WS and is in need of a BF as well as money, so I do not expect to have any shortage of female companionship. Good logic and aptly described, even I wouldn't think twice before paying an additional $50 if I really like the girl. There is one aspect however I will add here which I always consider that is the place where you are engaging with the girl. This might not be important to you or might not matter.

A gogo girl asking for 5 K baht LT is no surprise nowadays and if I am in sensations or skyfall, etc I would end up paying that extra money to have that experience because maybe it is the price these girls now charge or get paid on a regular basis. The price is in no way an assurance for performance of the girl which will depend on other factors starting with your chemistry, etc.

However if a girl asks me the same money if I am at Simon complex, Insomnia or another bar elsewhere then I would rather take that as a disinterest from the girl. They do quote high prices many a times if they don't want to go with you. This in no way affects their ability to extract LDs from you.

So not paying the high prices and walking away is also sometimes sensible depending on which entertainment venue you are at.

I understand your view point. I don't think you were not a fool at all in passing on that girl. You went with your gut instinct. That's the overriding factor. We must trust our gut feelings.

Some good points stated above. Thumbs up for acknowledgement. You seem have your head above water and it appears that you know what you like.
I will offer 2 words of caution. Just take my comments for what they are worth. No need to dissect them.
No need to regret passing up an over-priced girl. Why?
Two reasons. #1, like you said, we come here for sex with beautiful women for cheap prices. 5000 baht is a lot of money to THEM (not for us). Just think about it. That's 33% of a month's pay for them. Something to think about from a different perspective.
Plenty of other pretty girls who can fit the bill. Maybe not that One girl, who got away, but still good looking, and GFE. Easy to find here. So don't regret it at all. Keep the train moving for the next one.
#2 and equally important. That sexy girl who got away, she may very well have been lackluster in bed. When that happens to you for the first time (and it has happened to many of us), you begin to think a little differently about the one who got away. And you also rethink about that $50 bucks. It all of a sudden becomes a waste of money.
Time will teach the valuable lessons. Take it for what it's worth.
