    Serenotel.

    Hi all,

I'm visiting Pattaya for the first time in November and staying at the Seronotel on Soi10, does anyone know much about the place? Is it girl friendly and is it a nice hotel? What's the area around it like.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

    Sabai Lodge, soi 2

Dropped by today to have a look. 3-star hotel, "type B" room only deserved 2 stars but the pool and the pool area deserved 4. Pool big enough to do exercise swimming while getting a sun-tan (not shaded). Reception told me you could bring as many girls as you wanted but only one at a time, otherwise some joiner fee was due. Room promoted at 800 bath today. Made a good impression as a budget mongers' hotel.

I think Blanquiceleste posted a report about his experience with Airbnb here on the forum. If memory does not deceive me, he had a problem with the owner for poor maintenance and cleaning of the apartment not with Airbnb website. I used airbnb in Thailand and Japan, never had a problem. You have to find a reliable owner.

With LK properties you simply cannot go wrong. Everything is good. Well appointed, large, clean, elegantly decorated rooms. Good comfortable bed with choice of pillows. Spacious bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub and a WC that has a water jet (quite common in Thailand). A decent balcony, for smoking. A large fridge that is well stocked, a microwave and reasonably well stocked crockery and cutlery units. Yes, there is a safe. All the electrical work in the room can be controlled by an electronic master unit next to your bedside, so it is super convenient. Decent pool, not too big though. Very efficient and friendly staff. I had trouble with the aircon one of the days and the staff resolved things very quickly.

The biggest drawback of this place is there is no restaurant, so calling in room service is out. But with a location like Soi Diana you are never too far from some good places to eat.

Lee's Diner serves fantastic Thai and European food. Thanks to Banana Boi for the recommendation.

There is always Kiss Food and Drinks..

Anybody have any issues or suggestions with these?
I have never stayed at the Eastiny Seven but have stayed at Sunshine on Soi 8 several times and like it fine. Things I like about it is it is more or less an equidistant walk to Beach Road 1 and Beach Road 2, so makes it just as easy to catch a blue baht bus going either direction through the area. Has a decent breakfast buffet included. Two pools, one on the roof, one covered at ground level if it is raining or you and your girl don't want to be exposed to the sun. I much prefer the rooms in the "newer" section where the elevators are accessible on the opposite side of the ground level pool, which if you and your girl enter the hotel that way, around the right side of the pool and not through the glass doors and the lobby, you don't have to deal with any ID presentation issues. That might only be a good idea if you know the girl fairly well already. Otherwise, you can simply enter the hotel through the lobby and do the ID check thing. I do ask for and insist on a non-smoking room because sometimes they try to pawn off a smoking room that has simply been sprayed with neutralizer instead.

    Sea Me Spring too review

Earlier I asked for opinions on a couple different hotels, well I ended up staying at Sea Me Spring Too with my girlfriend. Since everyone was so helpful I wanted to give back a little. My overall thoughts on this hotel are good. The location was nice: close to the beach, shopping malls, food, and baht bus pickup / drop off locations. Even with the new hotel built in front of this one the view from the rooftop pool was still fantastic, we both enjoyed the pool very much. The room was pretty standard but clean (although the window to the bathroom was kind of weird) and my only complaint would be a little more English TV channels, this is a small thing and I understand the limited options. The hotel is guest friendly but I didn't bring anyone else back to my room. The price was reasonable and I would stay here again if I return to Pattaya.

Soi Bakauo, Soi Lengkee and surrounding areas

May I suggest the areas around Soi Bakauo (spelling). There are some fine, cheaper than Hotel, guest houses available. China Garden at Steak and Co. On Soi Lengkee have good sized safe clean rooms. In September I was paying BHT 600 per night. They have a limited number of rooms with Jacuzzis in, if that is your thing. Safe in room, WiFi, key FOB entry through 2 doors, 24 hour reception etc etc.

There are three guest houses on Soi 15 at the rear of Avenue, Hideaway, Boomerang and Beer Garden, each of which I have stayed in during the last 3 years or so, each I would have no problems recommending.

You may wish to try Arecca LodgeHotel on Soi diana. Never stayed there myself, but reviews are quite good. In September they were advertising rooms at 799 BHT.

I would like a recommendation as to both hotel and area. I don't need to be in the zoo of Walking Street again and if I remember correctly I found better bars and girls further east down the beach anyway and I know it is just a short baht bus trip to go back and forth to the different sois.

That being said I am trying to pick an area to stay. I was thinking either around Sio 13 or Soi 7/8 with me leaning towards 7/8. I don't need a fancy hotel with a pool (although it would be nice) but am looking for something inexpensive with a shower and a bed, and close to some action with friendly girls. For reference if you are familiar with Angeles City, which is my usual destination, I stay down Perimeter Road on Malabanias to get a cheap room and hit the bars in that area, never even venturing to Fields..

Just an FYI the way to get the cheapest booking is through the hotel website or emailing their reservation people at the hotel. The hotel's quoted rates include breakfast and all taxes. When booking through other websites I. E. Agoda, taxes are not included which means you pay a bit more. The superior room is their cheapest room and I am fine with that room choice. Best value IMHO.

Ozo, then Premier Inn and now Travelodge

Thanks Ableyone, that's how I was able to look for reviews on ISG.

Seems this place changes names every year. From reviews it seems it used to be Ozo Rooms, then Premier Inn and now Travelodge.

I booked for 2 nights here, so let's see.

    Thanks much.

    Travelodge

Yes, location seems great. I split my stay between this one and whitehouse condotel, booked 2 nights each.
