It appears that this year Songkran has been extended officially by a couple of days. Unclear though what that means for the water splashers. Hopefully they will tire of it by Monday, it really is a pain to get around without getting wet (taxi is the only sure thing for me, I was splashed several times yesterday on the back of motorbikes).

I'll be in Pattaya for a few days that includes the last couple of Songkran days so I asked about Pattaya also on another forum, and was told by some expats that 20th should be water free. Not totally convinced, to be honest.

Walked through Soi Cowboy about 9 and was sorely underwhelmed. Am I getting that picky or is it really that lame so early in the night? Went into Long Gun and no one was naked or even topless. Completely dead, nothing worth staying for.

9 PM is normally ideal time. Yeh sure it's dead for Songkran. Long Gun is currently one of the really crappy bars for my taste. Too many thick girls. Heard a rumour that sister bar Raw Hide maybe better. Shark normally has quite a few Coyotes and was packed out on a recent visit on a Tuesday. I thought the Coyotes in Doll House were more plentiful and overall better standard, and cheaper to BF (that was a more than a week ago). Try also Billboard in Nana (after Songkran is finished).

Baccara bar does not appeal to me as much, as stage is too packed, meaning it is hard to be able to see the few non surgeries girls properly, unless in exactly the right spot. 90%+ of girls do not appeal (same in any bar). I did BF successfully there in the distant past though.

Have not BFed from Crazy H this year. So it went downhill a lot.

I'm not sure how you arrived at this. Maybe you only hang out in the gogos. There are many women still working in their 30's and 40's. I am amazed at the quality of a few in that range who have never had kids. I mostly frequent bars where I can play pool. The younger women are the exception in these bars. As to what they do when they do hang it up? There must be many different answers to this. IMO their first choice would be to retire to their village with their own ATM.

There was a Starbucks at the corner of Soi 5 and Sukhumvit? Where the McDonald's is now? When was that? Can't recall it.

Anyway, most of the time there are SWs on Sukhumvit between Soi 3 and 5 in the morning. However quality is low usually.

The Starbucks is a couple of doors down from the McDonalds, which is on the absolute corner of Suk Soi 5. Close enough of a location description.

This is the first after 5 Songkrans in a row in that I decided to avoid as much of those water fights as I could and travel outside of Bangkok to a quieter area.
