Hey fellas,

I have been to Havana many, many times, But it has been nearly one year, and I know the scene changes fast and in unpredictable ways.

Can any of you insiders suggest some of the best places to meet ladies these days?

I'll go ahead and say La Rampa, La Gruta, Parts of Old Havana, and the usual places like Don Cangrejo.

BUT -- are there any recommended bars or areas or clubs other than those?

I heard Saint Johns, the club there, is closed. Is that still correct? I assume it is permanent.

Any advice would be hugely appreciated!

I had a friend that just got back from Don Cangrejo and he said they no longer let single girls in. He went on a weekend and said it was absolutely terrible and no obvious jiniteras / working girls around and only couples. I don't know if that was just a temporary or permanent thing. You may try Fantaxy in Miramar , Mio Y Tuyo , La Red, and Up and Down on Fridays but it appears Havana has declined in the freelancer nightclub scene. We were going to go in May and instead rerouted our vacation to Panama and Medellin. Hopefully things will change in the future.
Uncle V, enjoy Havana, can't wait to hear your field report on places. Wondering if Don C is open for business as usual or if the cops have kicked out the chicas. I will report on Panama and Medellin.

I'm off to Havana this week for my third trip.

I arrive Saturday. Plan to hit Don Cangrejo, La Gruta and La Red (now that St John's is closed), Fantaxxy, Fabrica Del Arte, La Esencia, and Up and Down.

I plan to do some trolling on La Rampa, Malicon, and in Vieja.

I will also check to see if Mango in Miramar to see if it's still closed.

Let me know if you think I've missed any good spots and PM me if you'd like to meet up for a drink.

Thank you Mr GoGo. I assumed the police presence would be big right now, and that it will persist for some time. Frustrating, to be honest. That said, theere are always options somewhere, perhaps La Gruta. Yes, a lot of guys, but on some nights, it's thick with both guys and girls. I used to hate it there but ended up having a couple of good nights in the end.

It's incredible how they completely eliminated almost all other options on La Rampa.

These issues along with the fact that my body takes a few weeks to acclimate to the intense heat of Havana are two of the reasons why I have not and probably will not return. The few weeks I spent in Cuba almost 3 years ago was enough for me, got my taste and checked that box off my bucket list and off to greener pastures as they say.

Best single word description of the scene in Cuba (since 2004).

You have to walk around the block a few times to figure it out. Unfortunately its not point and click.

There are a lot of police and con artists.

St John's is closed. I was getting. 96 for 1 usd on the street. Police presence is very high now so you have to be tactical. La grunge has a few girls but guys are deep there. Now its probably best to work through a local until the police relax. Oh, and it's already hot there.

Shit, as fine as she is I can at least make the 55 minute flight if she could manage a 12 hour bus ride. Booked my ticket, booked my casa and studied a few pornstars to update my technique. I was going to go Wesley Pipes crazy on her ass. I last saw Anna for carnival in August with Mr E and Grown man. I arrived a day earlier than her to see if anything new was happening in Havana. Posted up at Sofias for a couple hours but only cops on the corner. A couple rough looking girls on the side streets have low prices. But I wasn't going to waste this nut on something less than what I had coming the next day. Decided to tuck it in around midnight and get ready for Anna from Santiago.

Got up early and walked down 14 in vedado to the malecon and then to Havana Viejo. Two hours later and 23 k steps in the heat I arrived. Took one time to learn not to do that shit again. Hit "La Cabana" restaurant and had shrimp and chicken breasts with a tomato sauce and walked back to la rampa. Went home took a nap and went out at 8 pm for my meet with Anna at 9 pm.

Got there early so posted up on the malecon and 23. Saw this short young fine thing on the sidewalk sitting using the internet. Sat a few feet away ready to pounce when she looked at me and smiled. I looked around thinking this must be a set up. I walked to her and introduced myself, she introduced herself (Ingrid) and asked if I needed a companion? I asked her for her age and she said something I didn't like, so I said thanks but no thanks and walked to meet Anna. I would run into Ingrid three more times this trip and she always give me that sweet smile but I would keep moving. Went to meet Anna, we had some drinks and got a cab for 5 CUC to 23 y12 from La Rampa. As we were crossing the street I see Ingrid walking the sidewalk with an older Cuban guy holding hands.

I had split a 20 MG of cialis before I took a nap earlier so I was good to go at the house with Anna. The next morning we caught the 222 bus to vieja Havana to hit my money exchange spot and guess who was at the bus stop? Ingrid. Short and pretty as ever. We get on a cramped bus and she again gives me that sweet smile so I smile back. I fantasize about what I could maybe do to her in a year.

Me and Anna would spend our days eating in Havana Viejo and fucking before a nap and at night. We spent our nights at Sofias till La Grunge opened to party at night. There is this new black bartender with long hair at Sofias that I couldn't stop sneaking a peak at. Well on her night off she was in la grunge alone. Damn if I was single I would have had her. Also it was this pretty Asian girl with another fat girl posted up outside of Sofias watching the band like they were scared to go in. I heard them talking English so I knew they were American. I looked at the Asian girl and smiled. Two things in life drive me crazy: 1) a cute clean chocolate girl. 2) An innocent sweet Asian girl. Me and Anna go to la grunge and get a table in the back. About 15 minutes later the Asian girl walks by us and up the dark stairs. She gets to the top, turns around and comes down. She then walk over to a guy next to us and asks him something and he points to the left at the bathrooms. FUCK! That was my chance. I'm replaying what just happened in my head as I try to salvage this situation. Okay, I'm going to find the Asian girl, tell her I owe her an apology for not realizing she was lost. Introduce myself and see if I can make a date for the day after Anna leaves. I tell Anna I'm going to get some drinks from the bar and look over the whole crowd for the Asian girl but no luck.

Incidentally Anna extended her trip until the day I was to leave, later that night, must be some kind of female intuition. I In closing Anna served up the sex porn style whenever I wanted and it was good to see her but I can't help but fantasize about the black bar tender at Sofias and Miss Asia. When we travel we remember most the ones who got away.
