I just got on KAYAK flights search and found numerous flights from San Fran. To Medellin (RT) in September anywhere from $480-$550. Check that site, they always have the lowest fares with different airlines.

I was planning on going in Sep-Nov and 2 weeks ago the prices were 550 $ but almost overnight they shot up to 750. I just arrived in Medellin on Spirit from Ft. Lauderdale. Early!

At any rate, I was talking to one of the flight attendants who I have seen before on previous flights. He told me that Spirit was adding a direct from Orlando to Bogota daily as well as an Orlando to Medellin twice a week. The medellin route is supposed to be announced later this week. There is a God! I hope this is true. I got similar info on Jet Blue a few years ago, but they never pulled the trigger.

1. Probably more expats in Medellin than in Bogota. Medellin is "easier living" than Bogota. Better weather, cheaper costs, better aesthetics. Medellin has about 3.7 million people; Bogota has about 10 million. Law of averages: more people, more hoes needed.
