I know people have varying opinions about this, but I use a credit card quite often when I am in MDE, particularly at restaurants and store (because I get points and there is no international exchange fee). Maybe this has been posted before or is common knowledge, but very recently I have noticed more restaurants and businesses in Medellin that (should) give the option of paying in COP or USD. Sometimes they ask and sometimes they just assume because you are a gringo, you want to pay in USD (which, for me, is not true because the exchange rate is not as good that way). I might expect this type of option in Lleras or at a hotel in Poblado, but I stay in Laureles and was given this option at Frisby chicken and Subway (where I have my thanksgiving turkey sub! So just a head's up. If you use a credit card and want to be billed in COP, just be sure to keep an eye out.
With the exchange rate hovering around 3100-3200 and local places only giving 2850 its better to use CCs as long as your CC company doesn't charge an international fee. Make sure to be billed ok cop and your CC company will give the best exchange rate.

Take the Metro to the Ayura station. Get off the train, go up the stairs, exit the station and turn left. Take the stairs down and follow the street to the west. You'll pass a bunch of street vendors, then you will pass Plaza Mayorista, a major distribution center for all types of goods. Just past it you'll come to Casino Paraguas on your left. That's the beginning of the Mayorista red light district. It's just 2 blocks on the left side of the street.
These are good directions. I strolled through this area last Saturday evening and it was just getting started, but there were already a dozen or so chicas scattered around the area, in doorways and at the local bars. It also appeared that there was one actual strip club, although it was too early in the day to verify that. I'll return at some point and post a better report.
I can only tell you from personal experience. I have had two facebook accounts for years now. My main account and an account that I use to meet chicas from Colombia, Cuba, Etc. Not once have I gotten tagged or gotten a friend you may know notification from someone that I know from my "Real Life". The key is don't use the same email address and never link your phone number to the account. If you link your phone number to your account, people from your contact list will start showing up on people you may know section.
It seems FB has become very strict with new accounts. If you just create an account and start giving too many friend requests, there are chances that you will blocked from the platform. And regarding privacy, if you are going to upload your real photos, make sure those photos are publicly available to give element of future deniability. While signing up, don't give your mobile number at any cost and create a new email address for sign up. Face regonition is not used for giving friend requests. Its usually your browser login location and history, your phone number and email contacts that they use to track you. And also avoid FB and Messenger apps on your mobile phone.
I found, after making over 150 facebook friends with chicas, that I've refined my introduction and pitch to such a degree that usually now I just copy and paste the same phrases over and over.
1. When you find a girl to your liking, friend her and send her a short message about how your visiting Colombia and would like to meet them.
2. About 40% will respond to your message. If they're super enthusiastic and immediately agree right off the bat then you've struck prepago gold and can safely move on to step 5. Otherwise, make some small talk (How are you, I like your photos, you seem fun, etc.) and maybe tell them a little about yourself to put them at ease.
3. Close out the conversation by saying how you think we could have a good time together.
4. If they respond positively, tell them you'll message them again when you arrive. If they're not interested then they'll probably just ghost you at this point. A few will play dumb and ask what you mean, in which case it's time to say explicitly that you want to sleep with them. You may think this is crass but you're here for booty, not to make friends.
5. Once in Medellin or wherever message them again asking if they'd like to come to your apartment or hotel at a certain time.
6. If they're willing to come to a stranger's apartment "for a good time" then you're 99% certain at this point that they're doing it for money. This is when I make my usual pitch of 150 mil for an hour plus bbj. I've had counter offers, and some girls refuse to bbj, but I've never had anyone get mad or insulted. I know some members here prefer not to mention money or expectations beforehand and just go with the flow but I feel you save yourself some headaches ironing everything out in advance. Last thing you want is some diva demanding $200 and threatening to make a scene.
This is a good strategy. Usually when I tell them that I will travel to Medellin after 4 months, most of them stop responding though.
I'm thinking of going to Medellin for vacation next year. I went to Sosua this year and San Jose the year before that. I do write trip reports, and appreciate the help I get on this site. Sorry, this is a real noob question. I would like to set up a facebook account to meet girls ahead of time in Medellin. But I have never done facebook before. I don't even have a legit facebook account for myself. I think I can figure out the part about setting up an alias e-mail and opening the account. My question is if I post photos of myself, will my friends and family members be directed to my monger account because facebook has facial recognition and tags me? Do I need to take any precautions to keep anyone I know from figuring out I have a facebook page dedicated to trying to meet girls in a foreign country? Thanks.

Could you please give the link for the reference points on google maps for Mayorista, because I've been looking now for 20 minutes and just going all over the place! Apparenty, for Mayorista it's Calle 85 and Carrera 51, no luck finding that! There are like 10 different Calle 85's, plus I can't get access to the Medellin map for some reason.

La Mayorista is basically one block. The girls are posted up against the buildings. The block is lined with bars, restaurants, hotels and for some reason. One casino. They are all independents. You negotiate with them directly and then take them to one of the hotels. This area is frequented by Colombian men, not gringos. You will see very few gringos there if any. Prices are less than half of Park Lleras. Area safe with constant police presence posted up on the block. It's a very fun experience, especially if you come with a few friends. But yes, there is a higher risk of a bad experience like the one I had.

I got a bunch of PMs about the cost for my apartment visits. I paid 350 K per girl per visit.
Where I live, a 9 or 10 wouldn't [CodeWord140] on you for $110. So for me this was a amazing deal. The chicas seemed happy as well. Great. That's what I call a win-win negotiation!
IMO, very, very beautiful women there. 300000 COP to take them to a room. I know from reading the thread that there are some cheaper alternatives. I will try those on the next visit. Doing the math, I thought it was worth 300 K to test drive the merch before investing time, money, and energy for a party outside the club. Not sure how much was luck, but I quickly settled on the perfect girl very quickly.
After getting into the club, I saw a blond girl with a great body. Big (fake) tits, small waist, huge ass. I immediately had her come sit with me just to have some company for the price of a drink. I put my arm around her and watched the talent on stage. As this girl was next to me, I realized her face was not very pretty. I scanned around the room and laid eyes on three girls standing and talking about 10 feet from me. One was young and sexy AF so I sent away the butterface and asked the sexy morena to come over...
I was wondering, where did you meet her, in a club or was she a streetwalker, or something else?

... 3. Some putas are legit but have a firm policy of demanding payment upfront. So you might end up having to walk out a lot and blasting away a considerable amount in hotel fees. 31000 COP is $7 now. That can add up if you walk on a lot of putas.
Right now, the exchange rate is 3198 to $1. That equals $9.70 for 3100. Maybe you meant to type 2100, which is almost $7.
