Just out of curiosity, I have taken girls from street in Soi 4 and outside bars in Soi 4 so considered them better talent than beer Garden. I can understand you my friend. More freelancers bars in Bangkok would be great. I truly miss something like Billabong in LK Metro, Pattaya. I would suggest you try Country Road in Soi Cowboy. They have a few girls there connected to they bar, but they can be barfined. Quality is a little better than Beer Garden soi 7 and you get live rock if you are into that. It is probably a bit harsh to call go-go's a "middle man" since they will offer dancing girls for you to oogle, some dance naked, some performe a show etc. So there is something added to the experience, if you are into it. Quality of girls are generally better than what you will find in Beer Garden. But the glaring car alarm music is what often keep me away. Would be better with more variation on the bars. Last week I was sipping peacefully on a beer around 6 pm outside entrance to Penny Black in Soi Cowboy. Sat with a girl working in one of the go-go's. A couple of guys that I thought were watch-sellers caught my attention. They had no watches with them. Only big waist bags. The girl called them "bank" - or at least that is how I interpreted it. She told me they offer short term loans to the girls working in the bars, staff, the food vendors etc. With very high interest rates. They look like Indians or Pakistani. They tried to get in contact with a girl inside Five Start bar, obviously looking for a repayment of a small loan. They were stopped by the doorman and was not allowed inside. This was new info to me, but such things you can learn when observing in the late evening / early night. Is this activity legal in Thailand or is it sort of "grey bank market" ?
