How strict is the smoking ban in Sukhumvit, E. G. In Soi 4 or 22 or 33 or Soi Cowboy? Is smoking still allowed in the garden restaurant? Is smoking still allowed on the streets? If smoking is no longer allowed outside the buildings, I will not go to Thailand. I have been in Bangkok regularly for a month in autumn for twenty years. I am a smoker. In my hotel there is one floor for smokers. Do they still exist? Where can I still smoke?

Been mongering for awhile but believe it or not, first time to Thailand. Just wanted to give my reports from the past 4-5 days based on information I gleaned from this board's wisdom.

I've been lurking on this board for few months planning my first trip to Thailand. Thanks to all the senior members, and all those who have taken the time to post trip reports. Your knowledge and experience have made it possible for me to take this trip on my own.

I planned on posting this list before I left, but the site went down as I was leaving. I am now back home. I've decided to go a head and post this anyway (with some post trip updates). Maybe it will be helpful to some other newbie. Reports to follow.

Any prices I list are my rough estimate from the research I've done here and elsewhere. It looks like prices do vary some. I'm flying into Bangkok and staying 4 nights there. Then planning on hiring a car to Pattaya for 5 nights. Then the ferry to Hua Hin for 3 nights, and finally another car back to Bangkok for 2 more nights.

A little about me, mid 40's, average looking white guy, out going. I like to drink and stay up late, but I know my limits and rarely push them. I usually go for the girl next door types. Generally I'm more interested in personality and making a connection than just fucking the hottest girl in the room. DFK, and DATY are the most important for me.

I'll be traveling solo and plan on sampling a little of everything. I like to do as much research as possible so I have a good idea of what to expect. At the same time I'm trying not to over plan so I have room to just go with the flow. In Bangkok I'm staying just down the street from Nana Hotel on Soi 4. Looks to be a nice place with a roof top pool. Total cost is $70 a night. I'm budgeting for $200-$250 a day (excluding hotel and travel cost) and hoping to have $ left over. There will probably be at least one day I lay low and don't spend much.

After reading through the form here's my rough plan for Bangkok. I know this list probably won't be of much use to all the veterans, but hopefully it helps out another newbie. I'll do my best to take notes and write up some actual reports.

In Bangkok I plan on at least one soapy. It looks like La Belle would be my high end choice (2,600-8,000 tbht) since Lord is now closed.

Emanuel and Poseidon look to be similar with similar pricing.

Doki Doki is on my don't miss list. The reviews of the service are great. They do nuru but no tubs in the room from my understanding. I'm seeing 3,500 for 90 minutes. No lineup here (maybe available on request?) you pick from an iPad. Kiss and Alice are highly recommended (book in advance if you want them.). I went here twice. Reports to follow.

101 premier looks like a nice value at 2,500-2,700 for 2 hours. I'm not sure if they have nuru though.

Mango is the best value nuru with a good review I found. 1,500-1,900. I think the girls there are a little older MILF types.

I'm also interested in an oil massage. Tulip, Snow White, Hi Class and Joy Candy are on my radar.

Sensual Massage (261,29 Sukhumvit 22Rd) 90 min tantra and FS 2,500.

Exotic Massage Bangkok (261/30 Sukhumvit Rd) 60 min FS 1,700.

Dozo. 60 min bath room 2,400,90 min bath room 2,800,60 min nuru 3,200,90 min nuru 3,600. They do a line up here. Might be only one shot.

Cherry I stopped in to check out the line up and ask about prices one afternoon. I believe I was quoted 2,700 for 2 hours Nuru with unlimited pops. Line up was average with about 10 girls of various ages and sizes. They do Nuru here, but do not have the air mattress. Nuru is done on a mat. I'm guessing like at Chrome Bar (aka Annies). Mama promised great service to me and was very proud of the unlimited pops perk here.

Chrome Bar (aka Annie's) 2,000 1 hour Nuru, 3,000 2 hour Nuru. Done on a mat. Gel not heated. One pop on the bed. Only one pop for 2 hour also. Service was average for me. Report to follow.

There's a group of massage places owned by the same place that have nice websites. But I haven't been able to find many reliable reviews. Bangkok Passion Massage, Bangkok Bunny Massage, Honey Bee, and Kiss Bangkok. These places have inconsistent google reviews. Most of the good reviews are by people with only one review. Always makes me suspicious.

The Eden Club is on my must list. 2 girls 3 pops 90 minutes. 4,500 - 5 k. Excellent service. Report to follow.

Freelancers. Thermae is on my don't miss list. 2. 5 k - 3. 5 k ST (3. 5 if she's really hot).

I'll also be checking out the bars along Asoke and Nana. I'm hoping to find a girl suitable for LT to explore the city with and try out some street food. I'm thinking a freelancer might be my best bet for this.

There are plenty of freelancers available all around the Sukhumvit area at all times of day. Soi 4 at night there are many. I found some at all times of the day on the main road (between Soi 4 and Soi 15? Maybe even further.) Prices quoted were 1,500- 2,500St and 2,000 -4,000 for LT. I didn't ask any older rougher looking ladies. Maybe cheaper rates are out there. I got smiles every time I walked this street.

Bars. The many Hillary's, Beer Garden. I'm thinking I won't have trouble finding many more.

Go Gos. I'll be checking out the go go's for sure (Nana and Soi Cowboy). Most likely I'll buy some lady drinks and chat, but I probably won't barfine a go go girl unless I have a great connection. Average ST 3,000 plus 700 Barfine plus Lady Drink. By my estimate 5,000 bhat for short time seems be the average total after lady drinks and barfine. I could see the cost getting out of control here if I stay too long and buy too many lady drinks.

Discos. I'll probably skip these altogether. Unless I end up meeting some wingmen that really want to go. Loud club music has never been my thing.

Smooci. If I'm feeling lazy I might use this at some point. 3 k-6 k with lots of girls at 3,750 k. 2 hours 2 pops.

Thai Friendly. I have the app and a profile. I'll be taking a look just for fun. But I don't think I'll have enough time to make it useful.

BJ bars. I'll probably poke my head into a couple just to check them out. Looks like FS is available in some for extra. Wood bar is 1 k with a line up. Others on my radar, L0 litas, Kasalong, 7 Heaven, BJ Guru.

Chinatown. I'll already be going there to check out the food scene. I'll be on the lookout for any deals to be had. Sounds like it's a bottom of the barrel situation over there though. 500 - 1000 bhat.

Day 3.

My 3rd day in BKK was actually omw back from a different SE Asia country; arrived at DMK in the late evening. Showered, and decided to try Soi Cowboy around 9 pm and admittedly, my least researched monger area. Got a beer at a place next to the Wild west gun place and people watched. Still lots of Asians everywhere, but seemed to be more diversity overall with Indians and white people. Funnily enough, there was an older white gentleman and a young Asian guy at a table talking to each other--I like to think the old wise experienced guy was showing the newbie the ropes of the game.

I made a few laps dodging the girls grabbing your arm and pinching your nipples. I wasn't quite sure where I wanted to go, but one of the gogo bars closer to the Western end of the street (towards Terminal 21) seemed to have the hottest girls standing outside in white bikinis. Stopped by a place where a ping pong show (was going on but I lost interest after 5 minutes. However, I was passing by Baccara and just on a random whim seeing one smokin hot girl come out, I decided to pop in there first. Got my entrance fee beer and went in and would you know it, there were even more Asians than Thermae! I fought my way around the stage where a bunch of girls w / #s were dancing (aka bobbing lazily to the music). After watching them bop around awhile, a mamasan approached me and asked who I liked. I appreciated that she had prices listed on a card explicitly so there was no room for negotiation or being ripped off. I said I'd like to see more of the talent there so I went upstairs which I think are the smoking floors. Although I hate smoke, it was less crowded and the girls were dancing topless. I bought a few more drinks for myself and watched several rotations of girls come and go and finally motioned to one spinner-type girl over. I had been talking to the girl closest to me and she was just a delightful gal with a super fun personality, amazing tits and smile and spoke very good English. But alas, I had my target..

You may have misread my report: I wasnt cheated and I wasnt in Crazy Horse, Soi CowBoy. My report lists the bars that I visited in Nana Plaza where I saw numerous guys get trays of LDs delivered that they may or may not have agreed to.

BananaBoi suggested I may wish to visit CH but, if I do, watch my tab for padding. I may make it to Soi Cowboy later, depending on what my friends' plans are.

Watch out for scamming mamasans!

While we're on the subject of being cheated, here's my recent experience of scammy mamasan attempting to cheat me twice within 3 minutes.

Was in Rainbow4 a few days ago. I was in the process of barfining a girl, the mamasan wrote down the price on paper. Barfine is supposed to be 700 baht, that one wrote 1700 baht. When I inquired why barfine is 1700, she crossed off the '1' and laughed it off as being a mistake. Yea right.

Then I handed her the 1000 baht bills for the barfine. I know exactly how many bills I gave her, but when she counted back to me, it was 1 bill short. I argued I gave her exactly X-amount of bills, why 1 bill short?! I realized that in the process, she put one of my bills in the tab-cup of the customer sitting next to me, and told me that bill belongs to that customer. I ain't stupid, the tab-cup only contains paper tabs for drinks, nobody puts money in it, that 1000 baht bill belongs to me. I argued hard and again she admitted that I was right.

So there you go, if I wasn't clear-minded enough, I would have lost 2000 baht on the spot. I can easily imagine how many people she scammed using these tricks. On the spot, everything is fast and a little fuzzy (loud environment, maybe a little drunk so not too clear-headed), it's very easy to make mistakes and just give her the amount she asks if you're not careful.

That scamming mamasan was badge number 202 at Rainbow4.

The night before that, I was at another gogo. Before I left, I gave 100 baht tip to the mamasan-A whom I talked to. Another mamasan-be, whom I haven't seen or talked to the whole time I was there, approached and asked for tip. I refused politely and she appeared to be sad. Damn right, am I supposed to tip you just for walking in front of me? Mamasan-A was hugging on my arm and laughing that Mamasan-be didn't get my tip, she was joking that I liked her and not the other mamasan. No bich! I don't like you either, I only like the girl I'm about to take out.

Though they appear to be friendly on the outside, keep in mind that only one thing matters for them: milk the most cash out of you as possible. Be respectful to them, but refuse when you think a tip is not justified.

Watch out for these scamming mamasans, take care of your money!

I did see several instances of literally trays of LDs magically arriving at guys' tables. Whether they were ordered or not, I don't know but I could imagine some pretty sever cases of sticker shock at the nights end.

I don't know how your getting cheated at CH. They bring the Tab, you sign it and it goes into a small can in front of you. Why go crazy with LD's? If you want to buy a lady a drink pay cash, no Tab.

Well at least we agree on something. I think the Rainbow bars are the best gogo bars in Nana / cowboy. When was your last visit to the Rainbow bar (Rainbow 2 I believe) on the ground floor?

Baccara good too but hate how the girls stand in the same place set after set and they don't rotate. Wouldn't be so bad if seats weren't more difficult to find than a Super Bowl ticket.

I personally don't enjoy Billboard. Don't find them young and cute like I prefer.
