This is a below-average experience. I probably will never return to Energy again, especially when there are a ton of Facebook girls available.
Casa's are not my cup of tea, but I've been to Energy once. One reason I don't like casa's is because, with the antiseptic picking process and atmosphere, there is a certain pressure once in the room to just let the girl take control and treat you like a piece of meat. To counter that, I've learned to just not allow that to happen. There is a saying in Spanish, 'Yo pago yo recibo,' - the customer is king. If a girl anywhere tries to put a condom on me for a blowjob, I just say No firmly and smile - "I don't do that. " I wouldn't let her give me a fake massage. A real hardened tute might argue or whatever, but usually most of the young girls have no idea what to do at that point. That's when you just take control, start kissing. Doing what you want and one thing leads to another. Even in the Casa's the girls will do pretty much anything, and some will just ask for an extra tip. It is like salsa dancing, never let the girl lead.

New Life, Aiffe, Club Sexxy Amigas, Energy, Tantra, Yakusa, Casa de Piedra (aka Lindas Chicas).

Here's two phrases you can use:

    "Mas o menos".

    "Asi, asi".

That's "more or less" and " so-so. " Both are the equivalent of "not very good, but I don't want to say bad. " In English we would just say "it was okay", meaning it was acceptable, no more. But in Colombia it's considered more negative.

My advice is to avoid the hottest girl at any casa. She gets picked more than the rest. She already knows she will make her money. Why put forth any extra effort?

I always look for the right attitude. Read the body language. Some clearly don't want you to pick them. Some are desperate for anyone to pick them. Some don't really care. Usually there will be 1 or 2 who look like they are daring you to try them. In my experience, those are the ones who give the best performance.

I tell people to stay off of youtube. Being somewhere live and in person is a totally different experience than looking at it on a screen. You must go see for yourself.

Yo, Hunts Point was hectic back in the day. Mostly Dominicans, everybody up in there was coked up and thirsty. Real talk: Centro is Disneyland by comparison.

    Confessions of a Centro rat

I am a Centro rat. I don't live there but I spend a lot of time there. I don't know what Kafka expected or imagined. There are youtube videos and more written descriptions on this website than anybody has time to read. The finding diamonds expression says it all. If you devote the time you can win. It's not for everybody. Casas and strip clubs are quicker surer things with better clothing, makeup and comfort. It's all good. Me personally, I use Veracruz / Raudal to break up the routine, to pass time, and to find those diamonds when they are there. I have more personal contacts who I can call and meet than I have time. I like variety. I can afford the better strip clubs but I don't enjoy them because of the silicone, the noise, and the general atmosphere. There is no wrong or right answer to this, it's about personal preferences. I go to casas too, mostly in Centro. It's all good, enjoy.

It's truly horrific in El Centro with all the glue sniffers, drunks, deaf mutes, transvestites, and other freaks! The thought upon arriving in El Centro and seeing the circus there reminds me of a scene from the movie Forrest Gump when Forrest is told to run. The place most definitely should be avoided at all costs!

I hope it was not a cowboy hat in perfect Texas Style, otherwise it would be so much hilarious that it would fit with Mr. Bean. This is not Dallas, it's not even "Columbia": it's Medellin, Colombia.

However, it's not entirely your fault, but also of those who teased you so much to lead you to imagine the place was "Pussy-for-All Paradise". It is not. If you read more, you should know. Addressing unaware tourists to the Centro like if it was Banana Beach is irresponsible, period.

Bazurto is a market, not a red light district, not a place with gangs. What's the thrill in walking at Bazurto, if not to buy fruit or just looking at exotic Colombian real genuine people without tourists around?

The Centro of Medellin is much more enjoyable than, say, the Bronx in NYC 25 years ago. I remember there were also tour operators for stupid tourists, who were taking folks on a bus to feel the thrill to go to streets infested by gangs. Local guys, of course paid by the tour operator, were also attacking the bus with chains and sticks, to make those tourists to feel the heart break.

By the way, since I mentioned the Bronx, I understand you don't know what was the BRONX in Bogota, neither you have even approached it from side streets. That was a place not suitable even for Darth Vader!

I had to check my dictionary to find "ghoulish". I thought you meant "gluish" LOL.

You know a really nice place there, where one does not need to be DV to feel well?
I do not remember its name, but almost at the side of the Museo de Antioquia (at right, looking at the museum) there is a very traditional place full of billiard tables, with old photos and frames to the walls, cheap beers, and 100% paisa people playing. I spent 2 hours there, but many years ago.
No, no girls servicing there. Only men in Juan Valdez style with moustache and hat (of course, see: hats are important in Medellin!).

I understand you missed the best of the Centro: the Museo de Antioquia, with 3 floors of paintings, 1 almost entirely dedicated to Botero. It is one of the main art institutions of Colombia. Museo de Antioquia and Museo de la Moneda in Bogota are the two museums where most master pieces of Botero are on display. Go there, you will thank me.

I had told a buddy about a cheap place we used to go to in Rio called 85. It had 6 floors of hores. He checked it out and said he left right up out of the place. He was too good for the hores there. He is what you would call a snooty monger. He has to have his mongering with a smattering of Grey Poupon and Dom Perignon. For me it's a hole and a heartbeat, heartbeat optional.

Then the first time I took my dad to Vila Mimosa in Rio he was the same way. But when we went back, he took to it like a fish to water. Some people just have to get over the initial shock.

However, I have always warned that presenting Centro to first time visitors or casual ISG readers as an easy safe place to visit, as a grab-to-go place open to anyone, is IRRESPONSIBLE. One day one will get hurt.
