As a Farang (western), I can only give farang oriented experiences.

It varies. I rang up a Japanese oriented shop in Soi 24/1 once. The Thai receptionist had no problem with me making a booking, however when I turned up a Japanese guy at the door indicated I was not welcome as not Asian. The girl making the booking would know I was farang from my accent when speaking Thai. Perhaps she had not been told No Farnags.
