DBK has excellent hot roast beef with the trimmings. For your sandwich, you'll have to go to Swiss Deli, about a 20 minute drive away.
GE.
KG, keep in mind, while he does have a very good menu, that he is also happy to accommodate reasonable requests. If he has the ingredients etc he will do his best to fulfill what you have asked for.
Have eaten here many times and never a bad meal. Waitresses are sweet and attentive and the place has a nice bar as well. A bit hard to find off of J Rizal street but worth it. Mix clientele of foreigners and Filipinos. I am sure GE has been here as he appreciates good dinners.
This is a good restaurant Nightrider. Have eaten here before (with GE some times) and never been disappointed. Am not an alcohol lover so ant vouch g=for the wine list except it looked good. But the food is tasty and the steaks excellent.
I am sure posts get deleted because they either break the forum rules or are an affront to basic decency, despite this being a sex forum. They don't get deleted, as you spuriously assert, because of the sensitivities of mongers or because of contra views.
Yeah nah. There are grown men on this forum (geriatrics actually), that go running off to the Moderator, bawling their eyes out, because their feelings are hurt. That's what irritates me. And using censorship as a weapon to silence opposing views. No wonder this forum is going to the dogs.

Yes, the owner has been a close friend for years. In my opinion, DBK has the best steaks in Davao, and it's the only place I know of in which to get a real baked potato. The menu is huge and varied and the emphasis is on well-prepared Western comfort-type food. For those who might have difficulty finding the place, it's on Rizal St diagonally across the street from a Metrobank.

+1 on the good food and atmosphere.
Heading back to the Peoples Park area there are also several massage shops that will help you work of the additional calories 😁.

I'm surprised your post didn't get deleted for offending certain sensitive mongers. Soon this forum will be like a liberal arts college in California. BTW, when is the beatification of DS?
A note to all:
Instead of dobbing people in all the time to the moderator, can we please just let the conversation flow? This censoring of posts because they offer another view is all rather childish. That's what the MSM and the Democrats do.

Btw, I am truly disappointed in DS. He left his kids in poverty when he could have registered them with the USA embassy and provided them with something. DS didnt take care of business.

In whose culture? Are you another self righteous American telling others what they can and cant do? This is a mongering forum FFS. If you want etiquette and polite conversation, I suggest you go on the Disney Channel.
In my culture, we dont sugar coat. We give it with both barrels
Well said, couldn't be any clearer than that. To the Disney Channel you go, LOL!
Your comments about disaster planning are spot on. The very best you can do is to plan in advance, what you will do in case of a disaster. I was on the 16th floor of a high rise in Mexico City when 'the big one" struck there decades ago. There were no sirens, no announcements, and no instructions of any kind disseminated by the hotel. Don't look for anything different here.
As to DS, I'm glad to report that each of his kids now has a US Passport and a a financial settlement. I won't go into details as to how this happened, but in the end, they were at least partially taken care of.
GE.
This was not my first trip to Davao, and I am fairly well travelled, so honestly, I had no expectations as to what should have happened.
What I asked at the front desk, is what should have happened, and they told me what they do in the event of a quake. They failed to follow their own procedures.
So, now I know what to do.
Also, my day job, is very much linked to People not doing what they should be doing. So I am a bit of a Process Geek, Troubleshooter, and Coach.
Glad to head DS's children have been looked after.

GE,
Glad to hear the kids got taken care of. I am sure some kind people had to do the leg work for them and advance funds on their behalf.
What do you expect? Someone to put their lives in danger for you? At less 400 pesos a day?
Disaster plans? Yes, everyone is on their own.

I was back in Davao last week, and after a few days in Cebu, I was back at the Marco Polo. I always raise a glass to DS, despite never meeting him.
What was more concerning was the 6. 5 quake that morning, as we were on the 15th Floor, the building shaked a lot, with a lot of swaying.
My GF who lives in Davao, was very scared, I was not.
We relaxed a bit, and then I looked out of the window, to see that the Security Guards had locked down access to the hotel, and with a few more light wobbles I decided to evacuate down the stairs.
What followed is a completely unacceptable discovery that the Earthquake response at the MP, failed in potentially very serious ways.
There was no Alarm, there was no Voice Evacuation message, there was no phone call to the room. There should have been.
I had a couple of conversations with the Front Desk over this, and to be honest, I probably would not return to the MP, they failed in their duty to alert guests in my view.
Also, as an aside, there was a Siren test at the resort we stayed at in Cebu. We were outside at the pool when the test was supposed to occur, never heard that also.
There have been quite a few significant quakes in Davao recently. Perhaps signs the Volcano may be waking.
Welcome to the Philippines Sir!

Most workers are on 6 months contracts and back out on the streets looking for a new job. Employers do not bother training staff. They would have to train new staff members every 6 months.
Disaster plans? Yes, everyone is on their own.
If you find yourself out the 6th story window looking for fire truck hook and ladder? Better to start tying bed sheet together for at least 5 stories!
