Assuming TBG was a new guy to town with little idea how things work then he did the right thing. Its always better safe than sorry.

The best response is not to get into similar situations in the first place: get blind drunk, chase skanks, stagger home at 4 am, just don't do all 3 at once. Stay under the radar: girls and cops are looking for easy marks so don't be that guy that's throwing money around with abandon, chasing really young girls or putting yourself into risky situations.

If shit does go down then pay early and pay at the scene. Do not escalate the situation and sort it out with family or at the police station. The more people involved, the more it will cost and the longer it will take. If you go in to a cell, you are fucked.

If you want to talk your way out of it and call their bluff, know what you are talking about and do it confidently. I had a girl threaten to call the cops on me once and I just handed her my phone and told her she could call any General in my contact list that she wanted. That I said this in the local language and knew many LE helped.

This is wrong. The laid back vibes make us relaxed and let down our guard. Vet everyone you let into your space there and size up all possible risks. You are conducting a business transaction, not going to the Proms. As I have repeatedly said, you must have a long check list of danger signs. One such sign is inviting dodgy women to your room for no purpose. The system there is corrupt and no one will make the necessary effort to rescue you from yourself. Write if off as a lesson learned. If it was a true setup, I think they (cops) would have been waiting at the hotel for you to return to your room. The fact that she texted you lead more to she is working a scam. If you did not do it, you have no worries. As others have said if you did, what were you thinking?

If you did not do anything wrong, you really need to post the name of the scammer you met online and maybe prevent another guy from having the same issues with her.

I made up some excuse and told her I am currently outside Angeles and that it will take me at least two hours to get to my hotel. In the meantime I dash to the hotel, pack up everything, call a cab to the Manila airport and book a one way flight out of the country for a flight scheduled to leave 4 hours later. All this while she is texting me telling me how she is in a safe house now and she will be jailed in the morning etc etc and I kept telling her I am on my way.

Thankfully I reached the airport and left the country, safe, without paying any money.

She still continues to message me saying she will "tell everything to the judge" unless I pay her the money. She oscillates between threats and beggary to convince me to pay. I am obviously not going to pay anything.

I am considering consulting a lawyer in Manila just to be safe In case they have in fact filed a case against me. I want the lawyer to verify this for my own peace of mind. If on the odd chance that they have filed a bogus claim just to scare me more, doesn't hurt to have a lawyer.

If any of you know a good lawyer in Manila, please DM me.

If you did not have sex with the minor I don't see what you have to worry about. If you did not have sex with the minor then you know its a scam and they know its a scam. If that's the case then why on earth do you need a lawyer? At financial expense and loss of entertainment to yourself you evaded the scammers by fleeing the country; when they come to that realization they will just look for another victim.

But from my experiences the police would believe a local over a foreigner.
This is a good reason for using short term hotels as you don't need to leave your passport details.

There is absolutely no requirement to hunt on dating sites for hookers when in AC. Sure it might be mildly exciting "dating" a hooker, but why take the risk? There are only several thousand prostitutes working in the bars at any given time, and I appreciate that is not much variety to choose from compared to what mongers are accustomed to in Pussy Heaven in White Man Land, but nothing good ever comes from those on-line dating sites in AC.
