This is a report of my misadventures in Delhi. I arrived a few days ago and had read the last 100 pages of reports and posts on this forum to get an idea of what the Delhi layout is like. I knew to ignore all ads that asked for an advance or Paytm. It was also an advantage and without a Indian SIM card, I could not actually register for PayTm. I also sent WhatsApp messages to many SPs from Skokka and Locanto and ignored any that asked for an advance.

I know that all the photos posted are fake as well as the ones sent by them are likely fake as well, especially since different SPs are sending the same photos. I also ignored anyone who said they were based in Nehru Enclave as I saw a post saying you'd get scammed if you went there. After sending nearly 200 messages, I narrowed down to a couple who did not ask for an advance and said that they would send the girl to me.

Next, I booked an OYO room through Expedia as I could not use Brevistay or other similar as they needed an Indian phone number to register. Showed up at the location and was told I could not check in because I don't have an Indian ID and they don't cater to foreigners. Spent the next hour on the phone with Expedia who finally cancelled the booking and provided a full refund. I told the SP that I don't have a place anymore and he offered to book one for me, but wanted 1500 transferred online so he could make the booking. I can see his side of things, but I was not going to transfer any money online.

Found another SP who told me he had a place in Noida near City Centre and to meet him at the Metro station there. Went there and met someone who wanted me to come into his car and he'd drive me to the location. My spidey sense started tingling and I backed out. It just didn't seem safe to get into a strangers car.

So, currently have not found anyone trustworthy in Delhi. It has been a very difficult city to monger in for an outside person. I've been to many cities around the world and this site and others have always made it easy; but India for some reason, is not so. I have got lots of tips from this site on what to look out for; but nothing concrete on which SP I can use. Partly its my problem as I'm no longer a member here; I found this site is no use in Australia so have been spending my forum membership purchases on the site that caters to my home town on Melbourne; but I wished there was an easier way of using this site to sift through Skokka and Locanto to find the trusted and real SPs.

Anyway, just my story of my misadventures here. I head back to Australia on Wednesday and it looks like India will have escaped my mongering list. .
