The problem wasn't buying mimosas for the girl. The house wants that, I get it, and I enjoyed out chat. The problem was the host cooking the bill so that they ended up 180 are. And I posted it here so people know not to go there.

The only reason I looked for New Munich / Casablanca in the first place is that it was recommended as a cheaper alternative on this very board a month ago. That's how I found out about it. Precisely by reading the reports.

Pretty much most of the places in that area of Copacabana are clip joints. I prefer Dolce Vita, sure if you don't watch the bill they may pad it, never happened to me but I like the place because late at night they have good freelancers there and prices are competitive. Another clip joint I would recommend LOL is Barbarellas, prices are high, watch the bill, watch the take out fee if any but you can find the girl of your dreams there but that dream would be expensive, dreams don't come cheap. Thanks ET. I did say that these weren't Brazilian prices, and they tried to act offended that I would suggest they were worth less (this is Casablanca). Anyway, I knew this wasn't going to be solvable.

Speaking Portuguese would be a huge asset, I get that and that makes sense. I'm just glad that so far I've found Eden spa which was super fair to me. I'm not yet the kind of veteran that can make his own luck. But I'm working on it!

I found what I thought was a lower rent place by walking into the "no cover" bar Cafe Sensoo "American Bar" which is across the street from the Hilton Copacabana. For an American bar, none of the girls spoke English (fair enough, it's their country, but the only thing American in that bar was the bourbon). Hello everyone!

Any help on recommendations on best places to go to for the ladies and the places to avoid. I know about 4 x 4, Centaurus, and Dolce vita. But any other places to go to? Night clubs, termas, guest friendly hotels, etc. We have no issue paying to play. Just hate getting involved in the gringo trap. I know last time we went to Dolce Vita they tried to fuck us with the extra drinks LOL the first night, but then we just spoke with one of the bouncers and he got everything sorted out so when we came back it wouldn't be an issue. Last time I was in Rio was in 2013 and had an absolute blast. Just want to know where to action is at. I'm sure a lot has changed since then or not? Well, I post this so some of you can get a great laugh.

Any gringo (unless he looks like a native) who says he hasn't been there, is lying. I remember ordering a caipirinha from a kiosk or even a coke from a juice bar and getting charged more than the going rate. As I became friends with some of the girls we used to play a game. They would hide and I would go up and order a beverage. Walk away and hide and then they would order the same thing for a much lower price. Used to be a regular at Carretão on Rua Ronald de Carvalho. I always had to call the manager over to correct the bill. One time under suggestions, I wrote andão mais preços gringo (no more gringo prices).

I have gotten to know the owner of Casablanca. I even did a dupla there with a non-GDP and GDP when they were first experimenting with onsite service. Usually a door person or even one of the touts speaks some English. My suggestion is to tell them you are not an idiot. I have seen the same girl's drink game played at King George in Frankfurt, Germany. Hot girls out on the street leading guys on. Nothing actually goes on inside other than guys being suckered into buying expensive drinks then being strong-armed to pay.

My advice in Rio is at the first sign of gringo prices, call them on it. If they say that is the way it is, then walk. These days, since I am fluent in Portuguese, I ask doormen if I can go in and look around without paying. If that is not a problem (usual case) then it is a good sign they want to do legitimate business. I have met some superstars at these places. These girls go from place to place like Casablanca, Dolce Vita so there is no reason to pay a house premium. Take her to a love motel or your place. One word of warning, if you do. Unlike a termas where the girls are usually well-behaved because they want to come back tomorrow, you will be on your own. Another good reason not to drink too much. Keep your wits about you.
