We own a restaurant here and have several friends on operate restaurants, and we've all noticed a significant reduction of dine-in customers and a significant increase in those ordering through home delivery services. So, even though the country evidently has little to worry about based on empirical evidence to date, fear and ignorance are taking a toll I think.

How would home delivery be any more hygienic? We all know that Flips wash their asses with their fingers after taking a dump, and then there is never any soap to properly clean their hands afterwards. I doubt that the average Flip restaurateur provides hand sanitizer for the kitchen staff. The food will be contaminated with the bat virus regardless of dine in or take out.

I am in Bohol, flying back to Manila, and hotels confirm that business is very weak, mainly due to lack of all chinese tourists. But there stay many European here.

Up to now, I think Phil stay quite safe, few cases registered and far less than in my country for example, France. But are they well identified. That's also the question.

And if we contract the virus, maybe better to be in Europe or us, than here to be hospitalised.

So manila this afternoon and Friday a stop in HKG.

Here in California people are staying home. A couple of popular Chinese restaurants are nearly empty these days when normally they would have lines of Chinese waiting. Used to be you would go to Chinese resto populated with Chinese. Not these days for now. I have eaten a few times at one of the places and the Chinese waitress has confirmed business is down 80%.

Today I went to my Vietnamese hair dresser for a hair cut and she confirmed her business was down 75%. People are staying in and away from Asian establishments, including Asians.

I assume this will be the case for another 30 days until better results are confirmed.

Meanwhile I am planning a trip to PH in the next 30 days.

I'm more worried about riding in Philippine taxis. LOL.

Either Cathay and swiss still use HKG as connecting hub at least.

For the moment I can't change nothing.
I am coming first week of March. I am not concern at all considering the fact that Philippines only have 3 confirmed cases. About laying over thru main land China, Hong Kong and Macau. Immigration will not let you in. I am more worried about getting mug by street kids while walking around Manila.

I will be there the last week of this month. If you do not hear back from me before your trip, you will know that the virus caught up with me and I am no longer.

I am planning the same mid March transiting thru NRT.

By then we will know if the world is coming to an end or not.

If you are any bit worried about coronavirus then it is best to cancel any plans. I don't see how anyone worried would be able to maintain a hardon even with vitamin V or see.

    Advice

It seems that it is possible still travel to infected countries, by accepting these conditions:

    1) washing hands constantly.

    2) not shaking hands or doing regular greeting habits (if not hand wash immediate after each greeting).

    3) accepting a 14 day Leave of absence in medical quarantine upon return to originating country.

    4) providing a list (traceable) of persons with contact in foreign country.

For these reasons, I would prefer not to travel for work now, since it will be impossible to enjoy our hobby under these conditions.

I asked my company, swiss, and they propose a change from HKG stop to Singapore stop which is not far better, and with cost.

HKG for them is still under operations.
