Either you've not taken the tube from Heathrow or your perception of time is way off. Heathrow express 15 minutes. Tube to Earls court 45 minutes and if heading to Bayswater you change to district line and total time is over an hour. All in a dirty, noisy packed tube vs a clean quiet Heathrow express.
