No changes lately, so far all closing rumors were all just rumors.

It might sound stupid but something I've thought about is hobbying in every border town from Tijuana to Matamoros. I've covered everything from Tijuana to Nogales so far. I'd like to eventually make my way through Juarez, Nuevo Laredo, Reynosa and Matamoros. Are those towns worth the time? I'm not a finicky monger who has to have nice hotels, fancy restaurants and chicas only 8 or higher.

Well said, it is time open the economy before things get way worse. We can continue the social distancing, and start with some going back to work. The longer the shut down continues, the worse it will get. We are lucky we are in the south, our economies will rebound quickly. California, Mexico and other parts of the word the flu / shutdown will be devastating. It may take years to recover, many more will die from the financial crisis then from the flu.

The people I see screaming for long term shut down tend to fall into a few categories. Aging pensioners who don't work, and are terrified of their vulnerability to the virus, unemployed young people who would be at home playing video games anyway, and people who had shitty jobs and will likely make more from the very generous unemployment package in the stimulus bill then they did washing dishes at applebees.

All this talk about companies requiring employees to take covid tests before they can go back to work makes me wonder if border patrol will be doing something similar in order to open up the border to tourism again. Just a thought that has been on my mind for a while now. It's good to hear that as of now, they are not asking questions.

So far, this year, there have been 85 deaths in Nuevo Laredo due to Tuberculosis. Same period last yead saw 57 dead. Yet no outcries, no shutting things down, no sanitizing anything. Let 20 people come down with the new virus and everyone goes beserk, I don't know the death toll from it, but it is nowhere near the 85 that tuberculosis has killed.

Can Americans still go to Nuevo Laredo to buy medicine and cross the bridge right back to the USA? I know it's not even possible to travel in car from San Antonio to Laredo right now unless it's for essential purposes.

Still no issues crossing into Mexico, myself and others have made the crossing several times. My job requires me to travel all over southern Texas, I have had no issues, or even been questioned, as to where I am going or why.

I wonder if any of those flea bags in downtown NL are still open. The last one I stayed at a couple of weeks ago, "El Cheapo", was crawling with bed bugs. Hadn't been there in years, never going back again. I did, however, manage to swipe a roll of toilet paper when I left--worth its weight in gold up here in SA: bunch of pussies scared of their own shadows, obsessed with the latest designer virus from China, aka the "Shanghai Shivers"(thank you James Woods).

As for airbnb and its cousins, lyft and uber, stick a fork in them, they're done. People took out huge mortgages and loans to buy houses and cars to turn them into airbnbs and ubers, and now guess what: no customers. The airlines might get bailed out, but not these guys. $1200 in Trump Bux is not going to get them very far, and BTW have you gotten your bux yet, I haven't, and don't know anybody that has.

And as for the Coronavirus task force, what a joke. Fauci and Birx are relying on terrible models. They want to keep us on lockdown forever. Find a vaccine? Yeah, sure, Bill Gates has never been able to keep viruses out of Windows. Now he's going to find a vaccine for Covid-19? What a laugh. Should have gotten the BCG vaccination years ago like me. Gives you immunity to almost everything, not just TB. Don't believe me, just google it.

Well, at least here in Texas Gov Abbott wants to open things up as soon as possible. Go for it, Greg. I need to get me a damn haircut!

Great report, and agree we need to get back to work ASAP, or the crisis will be far worse then the flu. Mexico and other countries may never recover.
