You can get a sim at almost any shopping center. The carriers have stores in the malls and throughout the city. I use Claro and haven't had any problems. I buy 20 days of talk, data, and text for 20 mil. Amount of data is limited, but is enough for me because I use wifi where available. Many of the locals prefer other carriers. I don't know of a place at the airport to buy a sim card, but there may be one. The airport has free wifi, so you can get a uber that way. You should check the fare on uber. It may not save you a lot. Before the lockdown, I think the taxi fare was 80 mil.

Use the public taxi, just make sure they use the meter or pay the set price. Uber is good when theres no yellow can around.

So when the El Centro street scene opens back up fully again, which sounds like it won't be much longer, does anyone have concerns about going with the girls there?

I've posted about this before, and am concerned about it personally. The place is like a smorgasbord, and the girls there interact with so many people, not only the guys they go with, but with the other girls, the Hotel workers, the street vendors. Etc. I can easily see it as a breeding ground for the virus, and wearing masks / maintaining social distancing, I'm not sure how that would work there either if it's a prerequisite.

I could easily see a breakout happening there, and a potential shutdown of establishments, no different than in Minorista. And probably what would precipitate this is a Love Hotel or Restaurant or Bar worker getting infected, as that would be a case that would end up being reported if someone was tested, versus the walkers who might just have flu like symptoms and would work anyways telling somebody they just had the Gripe or a cold not really knowing what they might have and could expose to others.

You can get one at the airport. Claro and Movistar are your best bet.

"You can take off the mask, Doug. " The White House spokesperson then goes on to say per the California study, Covid-19 is at the same percentage death rate as the flu at 0. 1 to 0. 3%. Apparently, Covid-19 is just a lot more contagious. Seeing how it is early in Colombia and domestically spreading, I see no reason for quarantining anyone.

Today, Gov. Cuomo quoted statistics mirroring what was seen in California. So what we saw was a super contagious form of the flu. The main thing was not to overwhelm the health care systems. Like the USA, Colombia has flattened the curve.

The problem with this is when you scare the shit out of people, you have to unscare them, and that seems to take longer. I think we should open everything up now, but I would be shocked now if we do not see flights into Colombia in early June or late May. These are two good studies from the most populous states in the country, and the results were nearly identical.

So, unless I lay the ground rules early, "I'm going to bring chicks over every time you step out that door to go help your family" . Then, I guess it just sets itself up for a little guilt. I am enjoying the arrangement so much that I just don't want to have that awkward cloud looming over everything. I also don't want to kick her out and be searching for girls who can leave, or are willing to leave, and be having to pay 100-250 every day.

As opposed to normal times, I don't feel like it's 24/7 what's behind door number 3, right now. I'm just doing my own version of trying to make the best of a shitty situation.

This is easy for me to say but I feel the girl you semi-wifed up has to deal with what she finds rooting around your trash cans and get on with servicing you, or get the fuck out. As I often say, these girls are good at what they do. Those are fair points but the very poor here are starving. The government decided to gradually allow business activity. There is no option to maintain a full lockdown without causing a full economic collapse. Meanwhile, Provenza and Poblado restaurant owners have started an Instagram campaign imploring the government to provide them with small business aid so they can pay employees and reopen eventually. I notice it is the group of them that did not do Rappi or ubereats domicilios until very recently. I also notice the restaurants that did domicilios from the beginning of the quarantine are not part of the "help me gobierno" campaign.

All of this sounds great, at least the part about more girls to interact with, but begs the question as to how safe it will be taking these girls upstairs for a spin, especially given how much they interact with others.

As everyone knows the young are not as affected as much by the virus, and a lot of people who carry the virus don't even know it, so it could be easily spread from the working girls to the clients, to the love hotel staffs, and so forth. God forbid there is a "breakout" at ground zero like what happened at Minorista. One reported infection of a love motel worker at ground zero might precipitate a lock-down of the playground by authorities.

Yes, the guys who roll their carts through the neighborhood and hawk their wares over PA systems have not been subject to restrictions. I was referring to the informal market on the Prado side of the Nutibara hotel. I think there are starting to come back because there is so much more foot traffic in the area. You can see it in the photo.

On the subject of Tostao, I read in the newspaper that they are under the same ownership as Justo why Bueno and all employees would soon be tested for the virus.

There were plenty of fruit merchants daily in my hood for the last several weeks. Yesterday, I noticed that every bakery and coffee shop was open for take-out. Before it was only Tostao.

That has not been determined as yet. People arriving on humanitarian flights are subject to 14 day quarantine. I expect that would not change when scheduled air resumes unless a vaccine will have become available.

I scheduled it with 2 girls that did not know each other. I sent them both pics and asked if they approve. Then I had them video note each other for visual evidence of approval. I was out for a walk this afternoon and wandered by Botero Plaza. I took the photo with my back to the Nutibara then walked through the plaza toward ground zero. There were more girls hanging that I remember seeing in weeks. As I was about to make a round behind Veracruz church a couple of police on motorcycle rode in, turned on their siren and started making a tight circle in front of the church while waving their arms and yelling at the girls to disperse. It was funny. The girls made half hearted shows of moving along and then posted up again as soon as the police drove off. As you can see in the photo, there were quite a few civilians in the plaza and surrounding areas. I haven't seen the fruit merchants there in quite a while. Even the guy who sells chicken thighs out of a styrofoam cooler was out.

Based on what I heard from the President and his ministers tonight (intercity public transport and private vehicle use will be allowed for people who are working in approved industries. Construction and manufacturing so far), and based on what I saw in the streets, I would say April 27 will see the full scale return of the so-called "informal labor" economy (fruit vendors, 2nd hand clothing etc). The police have been leaving them be since the beginning of the quarantine but there haven't been nearly as many as normal out and about on main thoroughfares. I started to see a bit of that today walking around. What that means to us is we will likely see more girls we can interact with.
