My manager girl told me this morning (keep in mind my lease is up tomorrow) that they offer is $80/ day for one month, or $73/ day for 2 months. Now, for the past 48 days, it was $50/ day. She said they have received a lot of interest in the apartment, recently.

I think it's bullshit. She ended by saying if I have an offer, she will happily run it to the owner. I told her I think that's fairly ridiculous. Now, that being said, I certainly don't want to spend my next 24 hours searching for a new apartment, packing, etc. I have enough sauces and condiments to fill a trash bag, alone.

So, since I do not have a set departure date, and really no interest to leave.

Should I simply offer the equivalent of $50/ night? SURFER500, you previously advocated for that. I'm wondering if anyone has been keeping an eye on AirBnB, recently. I have not. My first impression would be that tourists / businessmen have been leaving, with no replacements arriving. Thus, shouldn't the renters being controlling the current market, and be in a position to negotiate? Why would a gringo penthouse owner want to risk a week or months of an unpaid vacant apartment, to gouge me for an extra few hundred per month?

I'm open to all opinions on this, I just want to feel comfortable with what I offer, because there is no time to bullshit, and I have no desire to go back and forth.

I am reading all your reports over the girls you are getting and the price you are paying so I figured I'the drop some knowledge on what I'm paying in the states.
